I have a iPhone 3GS which was a jailbroken (untethered) a year ago, now I want to upgrade the iOS to 5.x as mine is now 4.1 and most of the new apps are not supporting the iOS devices which are having less than 4.3. Please guide me to upgrade to any iOS version in 5.x and here are my iphone details iPhone 3GS version: 4.1 (8B117) Model: MB715LL Modem Firmware: 06.15.00 Bootrom: Old bootrom (serial num: 87930)

You have a very rare device. Since you have the old bootrom, you can easily jailbreak ios 6 and have it fully untethered. Simply use redsn0w.

I recommend you downgrade your baseband from 6.15.00, since you will get your GPS back as well as stability.
