How to unlock iphone 3gs 4.3 with baseband 5.16.01

I really appreciate the effort in putting up all the valuable information on this scam free website. Many Thanks. I have a iPhone 3gs with following versions 4.3 (8f19000) baseband - 05.16.01 Should I just jailbreak and unlock at this version if I dont need any new fancy apps/functions etc. or is it better to upgrade the version and to what? Thx in advance

i think the better for U will be update ur phone to verion 6.1
1. update to 6.1 OF
2. use snowbreeze and crack 6.1 OF to CF 6.1 and activate your phone( when you make it , U get on ur phone cydia
3. use cydia and install utrasnow
