Greenpois0n Jailbreak Will Be Released Sunday, October 10th [Update]

P0sixninja has announced that the Greenpois0n jailbreak will be released on October 10th at 10:10:10AM GMT.

Things have progressed to the point where we don't expect anymore roadblocks. ETA for greenpois0n is 10/10/10 at 10:10:10AM

The jailbreak is based on the SHAtter exploit found by pod2g. It will likely be released at http://greenpois0n.com/ and will include the ability to hacktivate.

We will be posting tutorials on how to jailbreak your specific device as soon as the jailbreak is available. Remember there is no unlock yet for iOS 4.1, so if needed, be sure to follow our instructions to insure you remain unlocked.

Chpwn: Please remember that SHAtter and greenpoison are /only/ possible on the fourth-gen devices: iPad, iPhone 4, and iPod touch 4G.

MuscleNerd: the ultrasn0w carrier unlock won't work on 4.1's baseband (and you can't go back to earlier basebands)

MuscleNerd: SHAtter doesn't apply to iPhone3GS (or iPod touch 3G). New owners of those should wait for future @comex JB

! ultrasn0w question ! I wonder if iphone 4 on ios 4.0 with 1.59.0 bb version can be unlocked, then why shouldn't it work on 4.1 jailbroken iphone 4 with the same bb version (1.59.0)??

Wat about ios 4.2 wait till that's released then release the jailbreak.apple will just patch it and then we can't update our jailboken ipads

Noo way it took so much time for 4.1's JB to be perfected that waiting till 4.2 jb will be more of a wait.. especially since most of up can't live without a jben iPhone lolol

This has been mentioned over and over and over. this jailbreak has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FIRMWARE. The exploit is in the bootrom which can not be changed by any firmware release ever. It is a hardware exploit. The only difference is that comex created a patch to make this jailbreak which would be tethered by itself untethered. So on 4.1 with the new comex patch this will be an untethered jailbreak but if 4.2 comes out that will most likely be patched leaving just this tethered jailberak but a jailbreak none the less.

Yes you can. Update to 4.1 using TinyUmbrella which will save your old baseband. So you'll be able to jailbreak and unlock as well.

Hi - pls help ... I got an iphone 4 from the US couple of weeks ago. It came with FW 4.0.2 .... so will i be able to jailbreak once this is out ?

You can use TinyUmbrella to update to 4.1 preserving your old basebad 1.59.00 which is unlockable.

quick question i have a brand new iphone 3gs on 4.0.2 baseband i believe its 05.13.01 something like that but im sure the baseband is unlockable but the version is not jailbreakable so should i up grade it to 4.0.2?
