Semitethered Jailbreak for iOS 5 Gets a Major Update

BigBoss has announced a major update to his Semitethered jailbreak solution for iOS 5.

v0.9.1 incorporates Saurik's new mobile substrate. Thanks to Saurik, we are entirely rid of all the daemon patching – this means there's no more daemon patching or restarting. Most the semi-tether work is now done by mobile substrate. The semitether package from the repository now protects your iOS 5 notification center plugins and gives you the option to patch mobile safari so that it will work on the non-jailbreak reboot mode. I'm still looking into patching mail, if possible.

1) Much more stable with new mobile substrate
2) Can patch safari so it works in the non-jailbreak reboot mode
3) App to monitor the status of your semitether and reapply. Check after cydia installs.

Please note this is still a beta and requires a beta version of MobileSubstrate. An update from MyWi and Appsync should bring compatibility with those as well.

You can find instructions on how to perform the Semitethered jailbreak of your iOS device here.

Hey guys I just wanted to let you know that if you have the MC model of the iPod Touch 4 Cydia will not run after you liajbreak it so don't waste your time. As for you guys getting the safe mode problem it is because some of the apps you have downloaded have caused you springboard to crash probobly because they have not been optimized for iOS 5. Also for you guys getting the 3200 error when trying to update to iOS 5, it is because the update servers are jam packed. I eventually got it to work after like 27 trys but I would just wait 'til later. Thank, bye.
