Etrade Supply has posted a hands-on video comparing the leaked 'iPhone 5' back cover with the iPhone 4.
New iPhone component. Maybe for iPhone 5. But it is neither a battery door nor a middle pate. It is a integrated part! Great changes in the design. For more information, please refer to https://www.etradesupply.com
That's the design of the new iPhone. The front glass will be easier to replace because it will slide off just like on the 3GS/3G. The back piece will be metal (not breakable) We are also going to have 3G compatible with all iPhones by the end of 2012
Interesting, and it looks fairly legitimate, though I haven't studied the part myself (obviously). I think the guy isn't familiar with antiquated American measurements, as he clearly has no idea how big .5 inches is. 'D I like how they've moved the earphone jack, as I'm always afraid a raindrop will get into the opening and void my $600 iPhone. I also like the bigger speakers and smaller charging port. But I'm also fascinated that everyone gets excited over the damn shape of the enclosure, rather than what the product does. Personally they could put it into a brick shape for all I care, as long as it works and functions well.
I bet that if this is the next iPhone, which I don't think it is, everyone that said it was ugly, or F that I'm not buying it. Will be dancing around like a little girl saying I can't wait to get it.
And it's funny that people pay more attention to this stuff than the real important shit that's going on in the world that's going to really affect our lives and future. If this is what it's coming too we're in trouble. Trust me.
My guess is it's a 3rd party replacement part for a prototype that probably got leaked in China. Remember last year before the 4S came out there were reports of a "iPhone 5" that looked like a mini iPad? Everyone was so sure it was legit, even had reports of silicone cases being made. Ultimately, that phone didn't come out. The headphone jack doesn't make any sense and neither does the new dock connector. Millions of accessories for every Apple product would be obsolete if they went that route.
If they do change the connector on their future products they'll probably come out with some sort of adaptor to be used with the accessories that are already out. And probably charge $30 for it. But who knows I might be wrong. They might change it and not come out with an adaptor just so they can make more money on the new line of stereos and accessories.
Yeah, if it's a standard USB connector it would actually make HUGE sense for customers (not so much for Apple and it's accessory industry though). Also it would be compliant with the EU standards Applke commited to... so I have a tiny little bit of hope...
But the Jack at the bottom is a horrible decision... I'll hate that one for sure! and a new SIM form factor sucks as well...
It's hardly the first time that Apple has "changed everything" in their designs. People have been talking about planned changed to the docking plug for a while. The current one is too big and inefficient, and the earpiece is located exactly where it would get exposed to rain, but then again, putting it at the bottom means you couldn't put it in your pocket. It may or not be the actual iPhone 5 case, but if it isn't, it's probably a prototype, and thus a fair indication of what's likely to be included.
The reason for moving the stereo jack to the botton is that they need some support when attaching the new adapter to the phone that will enable the iphone 5 to be used with older accessories. Without the stereo jack in the botton its impossible to make an adapter strong enough to hold the iphone in place on all the current dock stations. That mini charging port wouldn't hold the phone by itself as the old port does.
Hmm. Thats a good point. Kind of like the way the headphones were on the very first iPods or even the first Sony PSPs. Look it up and you'll know what I'm taking about if you don't know already.
I personally don't think it is. More than likely its a complete fake or rejected design that was leaked by apple to throw people off from the real one. Then it was obtained by some Chinese company that made a prototype to sell just to make money off of suckers that believe it's real. But I bet if the next iPhone does look like that you'll be dancing around like a little
school girl saying you love it
Frankly, I'm surprised anyone thinks this tall monstrosity could be from Apple. I'm rolling over in my grave if any new iPhone ever looks this ill-proportioned.
I remember the comments on the iphone 4 leak "ugly" , "i wont buy it" , "not apples design" , "come on apple" same here! BUT this will be the 6th gen iphone design! trust me. everything fits: chinese factory plans, found front cover, this back cover, the nano sim tray and the european decision for it. 16:9 apps will perfectly fit with the great tv's, too.
