Apple has reportedly urged Arizona's Governor Jan Brewer to veto an anti-gay bill that could allow businesses to refuse service to gays and lesbians due to religious beliefs.
NBC reports that, "Pressure from businesses -- including Apple, which recently announced intentions to build a new manufacturing facility in the state -- have ramped up since the state legislature passed the measure last Thursday."
U.S. Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake, as well as, the state’s leading GOP candidates for governor in 2014, have also urged the governor to veto the bill.
Several individuals close to the governor have indicated that it's likely she will.
Longtime Brewer political adviser Chuck Coughlin, told NBC News: “It’s been her proclivity in the past to focus on the priorities she wants them [the legislature] to accomplish, and this was clearly not part of her agenda.”
“She doesn’t want to take any actions that could jeopardize the economic momentum we’ve seen here in Arizona,” said another person close to the governor.
iClarified, who wrote this headline? Who told you it's an anti-gay bill, or do you just echo copy you find elsewhere? This is clearly legislation designed to allow people with moral convictions based on religious principles their freedom of conscience. Trying to control the public's mindset with a "half-baked" headline is indicative of a media who aren't interested in the conservative perspective on any issue. It is simply another sorry attempt to shock the uninformed to one side without a pretense to reasonably persuade. It shows the bankrupt thought processes of those who would squelch free speech without debate. Clean up your act!
Trust me, your father is REALLY happy about that! Ask him to confess to you about the glory holes in the video booths at the 'mens video clubs' he's visiting when he is 'taking a break from work'...
“She doesn’t want to take any actions that could jeopardize the economic momentum we’ve seen here in Arizona,” said another person close to the governor. Is this out of context or is it meant to imply she's a bigot?
Remember the bakery that didn't want to bake for a same sex couple or the photog that didn't want to shoot for another couple One because of there religion and the other not sure of ! One closed shop the other is being sued
