Warning: iOS 7.1 Patches the Evasi0n7 Jailbreak!

Posted March 10, 2014 at 5:19pm by iClarified · 85684 views
This is a warning to all jailbreakers. Apple has patched the evasi0n7 jailbreak with the release of iOS 7.1.

Please do not update if you wish to retain your jailbreak. You will not be able to downgrade back to to 7.0.6.

More details about iOS 7.1 can be found in the release notes.

For a very limited time you can still upgrade to iOS 7.0.6 by manually selecting the firmware you wish to update to. If you haven't already updated to iOS 7.0.6 we suggest you try. Instructions can be found via the iClarified Jailbreak Wizard.

Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

Update to my last post: Yesterday I was trying to upgrade my jailbroken iPad 3 from iOS 7.0.4 to iOS 7.0.6 by manually selecting firmware in iTunes 11.1.5 (OS 10.9.2), when Apple had already closed the signing window for iOS 7.0.6. Then I got stuck in restore mode with error 3194 in iTunes screen. Instead of upgrade to iOS 7.1 and losing my JB, today I tried to restore again iOS 7.0.6 ipsw file but with iTunes 11.0.4.4 in a WinXP machine. Again the 3194 error appears but then, after a few seconds, the iPad was able to boot again in iOS 7.0.4. This may be helpful if somebody has the same issue.

Postscript: I forgot to mention that before succesfully boot again in iOS 7.0.4, I was trying to restore the ipsw file in dfu mode, unsuccesfully. I don't know if this matters, but could.

Sam seems to have a easier method to solve this issue using Tiny Umbrella. See below!

Because of the INCORRECT info showed above in this article, I did still try to upgrade to iOS 7.0.6 manually selecting the firmware, but Apple stopped signing this!! I am stuck with my iPad in restore mode and error 3194!! BEWARE!!

Try to press home and power button together then release home button, it should boot up a white apple and the iPhone should be restarted

Yo bro, I had the same ISSUE, DOWNLOAD: Tiny Umbrella and connect ur ipad in the recovery mode and select. Select the Ipad in the Tiny umbrella Software. You should see exit recovery mode button on the top right side. Click it and wait. Viola! :)

Apple stopped signing 7.0.4 and 7.0.6. Can't install them period. Understood? Now, if you're stuck in recovery mode, one simple way to get out is using TinyUmbrella. Connect your iDevice and clock the option to get out of recovery mode. That's it, back to 7.0.4 if you were trying to update to 7.0.6 Now wait for a 7.1 jailbreak like everyone else. 7.0.4 is not that bad!

You are 100,000% right. EVERY time idiots run their mouth. They are like the idiot criminal in Goodfellas that can't just lay low and not buy the flashy Cadillac and then ends up with an icepick in the back of his neck wondering "what happened to my jailbreak." I don't even have a jailbreak. I'm still rocking ios 6. But stop running your fricken mouths. Just on GP. Stop running your mouth. That's just common sense.

WTF? Even if they would not have told Apple, who would stop Apple to install the jailbreak themselves and find out what is being called and/or modified? I mean Apple has 100% control over their operating system, and even has debug versions with all sorts of debugging and trace information. Most likely Apple doesn't even have to install it on an iPhone/iPad, but can run the jailbreak on a simulator.

I'd also like to know if Apple is signing 7.0.6. I'm currently Jailbroken on 7.0.4 and wish to update to 7.0.6 and then reJB my device. Is this possible or did I miss my chance?
