Amazon has posted a video that offers a look at the 3D Dynamic Perspective and Firefly features of its new Fire phone.

Dynamic Perspective uses four ultra-low power specialized cameras and four infrared LEDs built into the front face of Fire, a dedicated custom processor, real-time computer vision algorithms, and a new high-performing and power-efficient graphics rendering engine. It allows for one-handed gestures such as auto-scroll, tilt, swivel, and peek; as well as, immersive apps and games.

Firefly combines Amazon’s deep catalog of physical and digital content with multiple image, text and audio recognition technologies to quickly identify web and email addresses, phone numbers, QR and bar codes, plus over 100 million items, including movies, TV episodes, songs, and products. You can press and hold a dedicated Firefly button to discover and take action on items quickly.

More details on the phone can be found here. You can pre-order it here.

Take a look at the video below to see the features in action...

Doesn't seem to be anything new in functionality. More an attempt to reintroduce and combine excisting ideas. The innovative part is the special hardware that is allocated to support the new features. That may make the difference between this and failed attempts in the past. A note on the autoscroll. I don't see how this will work. I know that I'm never completely still when reading stuff on my phone. Allways moving in my seat, or shifting my balance while standing. Will that fire off false autoscrolls?

Why is apple coming out with ios8? 8 versions of software updates and they still can't get it right? I thought apple was about getting things right and perfection? 8 updates later and there are still improvements to make to their software...... That's why jail breaking is still alive.... Customizing!

Why are you coming out with hate spewing rants, same old shit and you still can't get your facts straight! I thought it was about sharing what the we think about this phone! What does this have to do with it, and how is apple not getting what right. Did you not watch the keynote or are you living under a rock lately? 8 improvements later it still chances nothing to how much they can bring us but let it be know, since the first iOS, like the quote on apples site says, "keeps advancing" so not once has it ever failed, but as for jailbreaking that's options users want because apple doesn't want too add every last thing to iOS because it hogs gb's and its security and battery, and besides adding that much would make the settings app more confusing to navigate. There's a reason android tried to add more than iOS but continues to rust in the dust.
