Apple has announced that a record number of iPhone pre-orders were placed overnight, reports Re/code. Unfortunately, the company did not specify how many units were sold.
“Response to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has been incredible with a record number of preorders overnight,” said an Apple spokesperson.

You obviously don't own a Mac, iPad etc. your Mac ecosystem is what it's all about.

Hate to rain on your parade, but the Iphone 5 that I am now selling on Ebay is the last iphone I will buy.
I am tired of paying $850 for a smartphone, or spending $75/month for 2 years ($1800) to get the $399 price point! So it is onward to Android for me, I can buy a fully functional LG G PRO Unlocked for under $300 and then go to Ultra Mobile for $30/month...and the rest of the money will go into the bank! I am off the Apple Money Train!

Hate to burst your bubble but have your tried selling 80s and 90s junk? Truth be told I made so much off how much my parents held on to those util they finally sold it and got rich, besides the phone will be worth selling before a newer one comes out.

Most people will be lucky to break even on the cost of the phone. Do the math on Usage though. If you purchase with contract: 64GB Iphone 6 @ $749, you still have to sign up for the data plan. My plan which ended 09/14/2014, was $70/month plus taxes, etc. So $70/month X 24 = $1680. With Ultra Mobile $29/month X 24 = $696 ... OR $984 savings. Not to mention the savings on tax.
So for arguments sake, let's call it One Thousand Dollars!

You missed the point. For a lot of people, myself included, it has become way to expensive to own an iphone. All the phone companies want you to think you can get the device for no money down and only X dollars a month. I am writing this to tell you and anyone else reading this, that the cost to have one of these is ridiculous! So I have opted out and bought a new LG G PRO for $279 unlocked, and I own it outright. I can use any GSM carrier that I chose. And I can chose to change that carrier at will...even in the middle of a month! Thanks to companies like T-Mobile for starting the war on cell phone companies who have been gouging users for years!

Who cares how big battery is, it's mAh that counts, and besides apple can do fine improving the chip like ram would.

You are right, but please don't insult big trucks by associating them to the idiot above. There are many good reasons for big trucks. Their only flaw is that the industry producing them gives a shit about innovating their engines...

Do you guys know that you must pay retail for an iPhone now?
If you choose a payment plan it will be a retails price.
If you sign up for a 2yr it will be an additional $25 added to your data plan ...plus you must pay $499 for an iPhone6 plus up front for a 128Gig..
Most people are going to go with a payment plan
Not everything one can afford a $949 iPhone.
I can!!

Finally.. They now realize the bigger screen part is really a catch.. Phone is really great looking even though it still follow the old look of its design but thats alright for sticking up for the original design part..? But this phone would be better if they actually looked at the designs of other people.. The almost frameless type? Reducing the black upper and lower part of the phone and specially, it would be way better if the specs of the hardware is very very competitive.. Anyway its up to the people who actually like the way it looks or are you more concerned about the hardware part? But hmm..? Why do apple still stick to dual core? When nowadays specs wise quad core is way better..?

kapnkirk24 - September 13, 2014 at 12:02am
Because they know those specs don't necessarily matter when it comes to functional efficiency.. Trust me, even my 4s STILL functions like the day I bought it & outperforms 70% of the new crap out there.
Excited about this 6 though.. Can't wait for mine to come in.

If big screen is a catch then explain why past iPhone defeated all the others then, besides the new dual core and quad core barely make a difference. Apple can easily improve the chip without adding ram, samsung, lg, etc. add ram which makes sense to use quad core because they can't improve it without ram. Some article I remembered reading said that but hey, power efficiency boosts it also.

Does anyone moderate this?
Doesn't look like it; however, it is obvious it should be.

zetaprime - September 13, 2014 at 1:05am
It is moderated. I've seen abusive troll posts removed after I complained.

It´s a lie, Apple could say anything, show numbers and iclarified is hurting cause of all the trolling. there are plenty of sites that are showing how much people are very disapointed with Apple.

Two points: 1) the Plus "sold out" so quickly because there were almost none available. How many people do you know who got less than a "7 to 10 business days" availability? 2) there are a ton of people who are not happy with a larger screen. Yes, there is also a ton of people who are happy with a larger screen. Those two facts are not incompatible. Personally, I think that the iPhone 6 should have been available in the traditional 4" iPhone size along with the larger size.

I hope the 6 does now that people are getting what they asked for so apple can continue their business now like the past with size.

The screen is larger and higher resolution, higher PPI count. Sometimes a screen is larger but with no more pixels, as in iPad mini retina vs iPad Air. But 6 plus does have actually higher Rez.
