Apple is looking into combining its face recognition module with the front facing camera module, according to an ETNews report. This would allow for a smaller notch in the smartphone's display.
According to industries, it is heard that Apple is planning to strengthen face sensing function starting from 2019 models. That is why it is planning to increase number of parts that will be used for iPhones and is looking into combination of a face recognition module with a camera module.
As we've previously reported, Apple is planning to bring Face ID to more products in 2018 and 2019. LG Innotek, the company that makes face recogition modules for the iPhone X, has announced an $821 million investment into its production facilities.
"This investment is for camera modules of mobile devices and businesses for new modules," says the company.
“We believe that LG Innotek is planning to make investments in order to construct new production lines for face recognition modules that will be supplied to Apple.” said a representative for a Smartphone parts manufacturer. “It is considering products that will be released in 2019 and not 2018.”

I bet you that noch will be smaller or close to no noch at all in the next gen phone for far is that the X version along with a bigger iPhone X. You should of waited.
What the f*uck are they doing with all that money! We don't know, instead of developing some innovative stuff! .. much smaller companies with a very tight budgets are making extraordinary technologies, and Apple is just struggling to catch up, so many patented things and we saw nothing, same design of a phone for 5 years, and then some ugly sh*it for over a 1000$, and honestly it looks nothing but a facelift to the previous generation, Chinese phones are getting updated every month or so, and it took Apple 10 years for that notch, Steve once said "what you shouldn't do is as much as important as what you should do"
Application does it better.no matter how much you try to show off b*tch and complain. Apple will always do things on a solid level compare to smaller companies so you might babble all of that but those cheeper companies will always fade.out after a while.
Apple shouldve waited for this tech, which i think everyone would’ve preferred. Now it would look like a massive u turn after hyping up face ID, so we’ll never see it in an iphone.
But what about front camera/proximity stuff, where would they go in a "bezelless" iPhone? Until they can be integrated under the screen The Notch is here to stay. Then there's an ear speaker which takes up 1/3 of a notch already...
