Apple Pulls Telegram From the App Store for 'Inappropriate Content'

Apple has pulled Telegram Messenger from the App Store for allegedly containing 'inappropriate content'.

Without warning, Telegram and Telegram X suddenly disappeared from the App Store yesterday. In a tweet today, CEO Pavel Durov explains why.

We were alerted by Apple that inappropriate content was made available to our users and both apps were taken off the App Store. Once we have protections in place we expect the apps to be back on the App Store.

Its unclear what type of protections Telegram has been required to implement; however, in its App Store Review Guidelines Apple says:

To prevent abuse, apps with user-generated content or social networking services must include:
● A method for filtering objectionable material from being posted to the app
● A mechanism to report offensive content and timely responses to concerns
● The ability to block abusive users from the service
● Published contact information so users can easily reach you

Hopefully, Telegram will return to the App Store soon.

These are authoritarian practices at their best... Again, having an ominous dejavú from the old Apple at a wreck before Steve Jobs saved their sorry asses. This is bullshit, ¿Was it because of the extremely handy jailbreak bot introduced at r/jailbreak? We are free to save our desired SHSH2 blobs if we want, Apple MFs.

What are you talking about? Apple used to be open and all kinds of mods were available for their products, they even made the OS available on 3rd party hardware for a while, it was Jobs that changed everything to a closed ecosystem. And it was also him that had a bug up his buttt against porn and nudity. So this IS his legacy. But the point anyway is that they are a private company and can do as they please, our dollars are our votes.

What next? How about WhatsApp which also got porn in it, all Gif's got sex stuff, Apple is begging us to leave and move to Android, they already took out one of my favorite App, that's why I don't trust them and backup my Apps with iTunes on an external hard drive, I found a 6 Tera USB hard drive for $100 works great was worth every penny.
