Friends Go On Road Trip to Recreate Every Default Apple Wallpaper [Video]

Posted September 15, 2019 at 4:14pm by
Check out this video from Andrew Levitt documenting a road trip to recreate every default Apple wallpaper shipped with macOS since Mavericks.

My friends and I visited and recreated every default Apple wallpaper on a one week road trip. Starting with MacOS Mojave in Death Valley National Park, we traveled to each of Apple's California Locations to try and make an identical photo to their wallpapers that come installed with every new Mac computer. We visited Mojave, Sierra, High Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, and Mavericks. Now we just have to go visit Catalina for the MacOS Catalina launch!

Here are instructions on how to set your desktop wallpaper on Mac...

Anything that inspires travel and discovery is a positive thing. It's great to see people exploring and being inspired by art.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but it can be done without belittling people. To the people who created and posted your adventure: Thank you for doing and sharing something that brought a smile to my face. Follow your passions.

That’s awesome! You lived it and visited these beautiful places. It’s amazing Apple was able to inspire you and your awesome friends to go out and see the natural world. Nature is always rewarding in of itself. Good for you!

As such, he should happily accept the criticism of his opinion with open arms. Open minds both ways. His opinion is valid but he expressed it in a way that belittles the people that recreated (very well I might add) art out of inspiration. You can express negative opinions without bullying people. Yes that goes both ways. PaulieP shouldn’t be chastised either, but that’s sometimes the response you get when perceived as a bully. I don’t think he is one. I just think there may have been a more open minded way to express his opinion.

An opinion is an opinion and I did state that it’s beautiful to visit each one of these places. I was expressing my perspective on the cloning of what’s already been done and suggest making it a unique experience. I wasn’t hating on visiting nature, I was just sharing my view.

Cloning. You mean like people taking pictures kissing in front of the Eiffel Tower or holding up the leaning Tower of Pisa, or standing in front of the Statue of Liberty or kissing the Blarney Stone or touching John Harvard’s shoe or standing on the middle of time square... Yeah. That’s a waste of time. It’s already been done. I mean if you do do those things just make sure not to post them because those pictures are already on the internet for PaulieP to see. Cheers.

What is the purpose of what they did other than seeking attention? They can do what they want, but we can reflect on the content. PaulieP has his opinion, and although some may disagree with it, it's a valid point of view.

Why does there need to be a purpose beyond the experience for some friends going out and explore our wonderful planet? They were inspired by something they saw to go on an adventure and experience something they may not have thought to do. I’m sure other people go to destinations for similar reasons. You know, reasons like someone going there before them and liking the experience. I mean if that’s the case we can all just travel around the world by reading articles of other people’s adventures. More to the point, why dump on some friends that had fun traveling because they were inspired. Cheers.
