@Derek, Go f yourself. You are stealing the work of the DevTeam and probably Zibri. Did I mention that you should go f yourself?

There is a much easier way with a guarentee, help, and upgrades that last for life: i found this and used it and found that although it does cost $24 you are not dissapointed because you no longer have to go on blogs to find hacks like i once did, but in fact the $24 gives you a lifetime membership to all future upgrades you might need as the iphones get even better! So check this out, its alot more reliable than the pwnage tool for the 2.0, ive done both.

use the ipwner button if you get an error while restoring
Eric - April 8, 2008 at 4:42pm
ok.. so i'm having the same problem as a few other people, it appears! it goes through the process then on "preparing iphone for restore" it hangs and i eventually get an error code (1604) saying it could not be restored! anyone figure out why exactly this is happening?! any help you could offer would be awesome! thanks in advance!

I was able to load 1.2 successfully. However, not able configure exchange mail. @iClarified, can you please post a tutorial on this?
Caiolexis - April 5, 2008 at 2:05pm
It's been working great for me SSH works but I don't have the password. Not that I need it anyway Cisco VPN and Exchange do work as well And you can go back to 1.1.4 , just pwnage a 1.1.4 firmware and put your iPhone in Restore mode. Enjoy~!
Patrik - April 4, 2008 at 1:43pm
Ok, I have tried to go up to 1.2. It did work (also with another carrier). I tried the exchange sync and I have to say; Its very BUGGY. I think we need a couple of more betas. It didn't work 100% (more 20%). So if you want to upgrade just for the exchange sync, dont do it, not worth for now. With pwnage i did get back to 1.1.4 without any problem.

Does Exchange Mail work in fw 2.0?
Patrik - April 4, 2008 at 10:07am
If you update to firmware 1.2, is the iphone unlocked in that state, so i can used with another mobil operator?

Quick question. I Ziphone'd my 16 iPhone and it is working fine. I used the older 2.6 version to unlock and activate it. It naturally downgraded the BL from 4.6 ro 3.9. If I use the Pwnage Tool will it revert my BL back to 4.6 and will I run any risk of using one tool (Pwnage) over anotehr tool (ZiPhone), i.e. damaging my phone, etc.... Also will I need to do a restore via iTunes so that I can use the Pwnage Tool? Thanks in advance.

el greko - April 3, 2008 at 10:14pm
@portalpie, in theory yes you are able to revert back to the 1.1.4 version, but only if you dont brick your phone/pod (which is not very likely) @kiran, true, the beta version sucks without any tools! def wait til the ipswtool is released and we can install programs right from itunes til then just wait or try it out for yourself
Kiran - April 3, 2008 at 10:11pm
Guys, it is suggested you wait till devs work on th revised toolchain. Only devs are suggested tot ry 2.0 beta... Once ipswtool is released then we can really pwnage!.!!
portalpie - April 3, 2008 at 10:10pm
Like I have seen some others ask... Is it possible to downgrade back to 1.1.4 if you have upgraded to 2.0 beta? thanks
el greko
el greko - April 3, 2008 at 9:57pm
@portaplie, follow the steps to convert to the pwned 1.1.4 then follow the steps if you want to convert to pwned 2.0 you should be fine the way you are
portalpie - April 3, 2008 at 9:54pm
Ok, so I have a ZiPhoned 1.1.3 with the 4.6 Bootloader. Do I have to do any extra steps before starting or can I just start the tutorial in the state that my phone is in now? Thanks Morgs

Can anyone confirm that it works with iTunes 7.6.2. If not, where can we download the earlier version ?

el greko - April 3, 2008 at 9:07pm

Nishoo - April 3, 2008 at 9:07pm

@wart the wifi works
wart - April 3, 2008 at 7:59pm
@iClarified, have you been able to test 1.2 to see if it is now 802.1x compatible? Thanks for the tutorial!
iClarified - April 3, 2008 at 7:37pm
@MacsPain, Install BSD and SSH once you are done following the steps that Step One asks you to do. ie Pwn your 1.1.4. You don't have 2.0 yet in step one!
MacsPain - April 3, 2008 at 7:34pm
Step ONE: "Make sure you install BSD Subsystem and OpenSSH from installer once you are done." -> doesn't make much sense since the installer won't work on 2.0!
Michael - April 3, 2008 at 7:31pm
Same Problem here, iPhone (BL3.9, 1.1.4) doesn't restore to 2.0. Tried it with iTunes 7.6.2 (MacOS) and 7.6.1 (Windows)... iTunes tells me that it prepares the iPhone for the restore and hangs. The iPhone shows the Apple Screen without any animated "clock"... Michael
iClarified - April 3, 2008 at 6:53pm
@Steve, a lot of people don't use third party apps and also alot of people just like trying out new stuff. Most people probably shouldn't update to 2.0 yet.
@itzjonjon69, I used iTunes 7.5 for the tutorial.
itzjonjon69 - April 3, 2008 at 6:35pm
tried doing it but kept getting some kind of itunes error code (1604) maybe its because of the new itunes 7.6.2?

iclarified I am waiting for windows version but news that installer don't work with 2.0 suprised me this is the first mention of this so far not worth any one losing all there apps to go from 1.1.4 to 2.0 yet is it
