How do I reverse the IOS upgrade 6.0.1 to a previous version on an iPhone 3gs

I use my iPhone with a go card instead of a contract, up until I did this upgrade on the IOS 6,0.1 I was able to receive & send pictures, now that I have done this upgrade I am unable to receive or send pictures & was told it is because I do not have a contract......please help.....I miss getting pictures of my grandchildren.
