O CEO da Apple, Tim Cook, anunciou durante a conference call trimestral da empresa que a Apple vendeu o bilionésimo dispositivo iOS no último trimestre. De acordo com a Apple, a empresa vendeu 34 000 iPhones por hora, 24 horas por dia, em todos os dias do trimestre. A empresa vendeu 74,5 milhões de iPhones no último trimestre, atingindo um novo recorde.

Tim Cook também afirmou que o iPhone 6 foi o iPhone mais popular durante o último trimestre (quando comparado com o iPhone 6 Plus). Ainda assim, algumas regiões preferiram o iPhone 6 Plus ao iPhone 6.

Os novos iPhone 6 e iPhone 6 Plus têm sido um enorme sucesso. A Apple planeou o lançamento a nível internacional afincadamente, mas houve um excesso de procura no início de janeiro.

Tim Cook está otimista em relação ao futuro do iPhone e salientou que apenas uma pequena percentagem dos utilizadores do iPhone é que adquiriu um dos modelos dos novos iPhones. Há mais utilizadores a mudar de Android para iPhone do que nunca.

Because if they lower the price, they will make less billions. And why would they want to, if it's working? I'm just saying... people gotta stop thinking that companies are their friends, and realise that it's just business. That's why being a "fanboy" is just retarded. Buy what you like, no matter the brand.

The dude that bought the billionth has no idea he bought the billionth. Imagine 1 billion iphones times the average cost of an iphone (say 200)...thats a lot of scratch. Yea theres overhead but still

It's not one billion iPhones, it's one billion iOS devices. That includes iPads and iPod Touches.
