For iPhone 7/7+ you need to press the volume down button.

Very narrow minded to think that the phone is stolen. I am a company admin and deal with all the time when ex employees put their personal icloud account on my corporate phones. This is also not uncommon for people buying/selling used phones. If the seller does not go through the setup and deactiavte the account, the buyer will have issues.

This works with any computer that you can download iTunes onto. I have a Dell, a HP, and a Sony vaio and it works for all of them.

For the record, my ipod touch is 5th gen, and my laptop 10.6 . And when I followed through with the instructions it worked until I got an error message of 4005, and basically my laptop's version of itunes was not up to date, although it said it was. Currently the latest version is 12.0.1. And my laptop was reading "This version of itunes (11.4) is the current version", which is incorrect and misleading. So I switched to my later model - and it works. Ensure that your stuff is up-to-date or it won;t work.

when it pops up the itunes icon then plug it into itunes and it will restore it. just wait for itunes to tell you the phone needs recovery/restoring

Nie pomogło. Dalej pojawia się komunikat "This iPhone is currently linked to an Apple ID. Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to set up this iPhone." Aby go odtworzyć muszę podać ID i Password poprzedniego właściciela. To jakaś paranoja.

This really works!! Had my phone jailbroken and needed it back to normal. This restored the phone to its original setting. I would say to only do this if your planning on using the original carrier which it was purchased from. This helped me and I hope it does the same for you! God bless peace and love to all!!!

Easy way is to: Hold down both Sleep/Lock and Home buttons simultaneously, when the screen goes black count to 3, then release the Lock/Sleep button but keep holding the Home button for 10 seconds, or until iTunes recognizes the device again.

My son has an ipod 5th generation. He forgot his password & it's locked. I know how to restore it to factory settings by plugging into itunes, I've done it several times, however the "device locator" is turned on in settings & when I try to restore it, it will not let me, it tells me to go to icloud settings & turn off device locator but I obviously can't do that because it's locked & I can't get to it so now what do I do????

You cant bypass the find my phone on it, the only way to is to try to recover the password. No matter what you do it will always require that, it is a security feature that stops people who find/steal using the device, the passcode is easy to get past as u said but apple store is your best bet with that one or apple customer services.

This isn't DFU mode. You should either fix the tutorial or delete it. You're doing more harm than help.

I have a jailbroken iPhone3GS. Something went wrong ..and it wont even power on.Screen remains 100% dead. No light. No apple logo. However, i am able to get into DFU mode .. and when I ask iTunes to "Restore iPhone": .. it goes through the motions of trying to restore/recover. And ends with the following message - "The iPhone cannot be restored. An unknown error occurred (3194)"

I have an IPhone 3GS and ive had that problem but all I did to get it to turn on was I held the power and home button for 15 seconds and the apple logo showed then it brought me to the lock screen. The IPhone 3GS is getting very old so most likely my suggestion would be to get a new phone like Iphone 4 or 5. My girlfriend had an IPhone 3GS but 4 weeks ago it shut down on her and she couldn't get it to turn on so we went to every site including youtube to try and get it to turn on so we tried not realizing that the phone was 100% dead and wouldn't turn on so we knew that the phone was done so she got the IPhone 4S. So if I were you I would go and get either IPhone 4 or 5
