Heated Steve Jobs Email Exchange is Real [BGR]

The BoyGeniusReport has declared that their exclusive account of an email exchange between Steve Jobs and an irate iPhone 4 customer is real.

Unfortunately, BGR made a mistake in publishing the story. The last line of the exchange was written to be said by Steve Jobs, when in fact it was Jason who emailed that in reply to Steve Jobs.

Otherwise, they are confident in the story.

Let’s go over it one more time… someone who wanted to remain 100% anonymous and only asked to be paid a nominal fee of a couple hundred dollars lied and completely made up this entire thing? Someone who showed me in his AT&T call records more than two calls from Apple representatives (Texas phone numbers, confirmed to be Apple Customer Relations) on the exact dates he said they called trying to resolve the situation after he had emailed Steve Jobs? Someone who repeatedly emailed me and the BGR staff to correct the last line in my story since it wasn’t accurate? Someone who has now had his name revealed to the public via a tasteless article from AppleInsider, and is now being called by reporters non-stop asking about this article and whether his exchange is true or not? They still wouldn’t admit this was fake? No, you know why? Because it wasn’t fake.

When CNN asked on the record whether Steve Jobs was the author of any of these statements, a top Apple spokesman emphatically denied it. BGR notes this very well could be true.

I personally couldn’t give a damn if this email was with Steve Jobs himself or not. What I care about is whether this was with Steve Jobs’ email box, one that is obviously monitored by a bunch of employees at Apple, either in customer service or PR, or both. So, is it possible that Steve Jobs himself did not write those emails to Jason Burford? Without a doubt. Is it possible that these replies were fabricated, and didn’t come from someone at Apple sending emails to Jason Burford from Steve Jobs’ email address sjobs@apple.com? No. I believe 100% these emails are real

So the article title is a firm statement based on one person's belief... That is pure garbage and this should be retitled.

Very true how many iphones were sold in the first 3 days? Like 1.7 million so even if a 100k were fubar thats only 10% of the market that has a problem. Its an electronical piece of equipment that was probably pushed out too soon before enough r&d was done to get out on the marketto compete with all the new droid phones that are out. I will say apple and att could handle the issues a little bit better then they are doing. With all the compition coming out and att loosing their contract at the end of the year you would think they would do everything they could to keep what customers they have. I for one cant wait tell verizion gets the phone so i can get off of att. But even still people just need to relax there is always a bug the first time something new comes out. Your just as much at fault for having to be the "first" person with a new toy.

Who cares I don't think Steve was bad in it, just short like normal. You know the guy should take back the iPhone if he doesn't like it, he can say what he wants but it doesn't mean all iPhones are having problems. There are many problems out there but there are also plenty that don't. I believe the problems are on the low end (just because I say low end it doesn't mean a thousand or 2, it could easily be 40,000 and still be a low manufacturing problem), it just seems like more when you read blogs. I realize people are mad but take it in for a trade, put a freakin case on, return it, or wait for a fix. Yes I think you can complain on blogs but most complaints just sound like jerk reactions (because it happened to me it's all iPhones, Steve why did you do this to me) what a load of crap.

I agree with that.It can be design flaw or it should be the manufacturer which lapse QUALITY CONTROL.Remember Foxconn workers need to produce thousands of iPad & iPhone daily. Who knows. Maybe we can wait for the 2nd batch of iPhone 4.
