Old palm pilots did this just fine. Although the treo had suspiciously weak IR range. If this is novel, I want to patent the bread bowl. It's been done but I can do it more elegantly.

In other news, Apple has issued a patent for a new innovation - An invisible breathable gas, AiR (short for Apple intelligent Respiration) is set to revolutionise breathing. A spokesman from Apple says they expect to start fitting breathing meters by summer, payment for Air will be via your itunes account and will be an opt out system

I think I've seen one already. What's the big deal about it? Because it's from Apple it will probably cost £500!

I have a touch screen programmable remote in my media room... Don't understand any difference, except mine is real and the other is a drawing...

A simple and stylish Multitouch Remote Control from Apple? HELL YEAH!!! That would kick out my Logitech Harmony without hesitation. With a number of software / hardware choices, that is already possible today (e.g. the "Constellation" app for XBMC, the WDTV Remote app, the iTunes Remote app). A simple and integrated solution with some kind of IR blaster functionality would be great however.
