Apple is reportedly planning to release 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones with displays that curve downward at their edges in the second half of 2014, according to Bloomberg. Subsequent models of the phones are said to feature enhanced sensors that can detect different pressure levels.
Two models planned for release in the second half of next year would feature larger displays with glass that curves downward at the edges, said the person, declining to be identified because the details aren’t public. Sensors that can distinguish heavy or light touches on the screen may be incorporated into subsequent models, the person said. With screens of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, the two new models would be Apple’s largest iPhones, the person said, and would approach in size the 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3 that Samsung Electronics Co. debuted in September.
The new phones are still in development and plans have yet to be finalized; however, it's said they will likely be released in the third quarter of next year.
This isn't the first prediction of a larger display iPhone next year. A report from the Japanese computer magazine, "Mac Fan 2013 December," predicts that Apple's next iPhone will feature a 5-inch 1080p 440 PPI display. Piper Jaffary analyst Gene Munster predicts the company with launch a 'blockbuster' iPhone 6 with a larger display next summer.
As usual, Apple declined to comment on the report.

I want a Jailbreak - November 11, 2013 at 12:59am
What we want is the Jailbreak for the IOS7 and Apple TV3.
Thats the most important thing is the JAIBREAK
Where is the Jailbreak by the way?
I remember the days when Geohot was around we get our jailbreak every time Apple comes out w/ an update.
Now every 2 yrs, even an Unlock is getting harder and harder.

Why do you need jailbreak? Don't say for tweaks because we know that's not the real reason.

Most apps are cheap and not worth the trouble of jailbreaking to pirate them.
But these come to mind:
1. Tethering - to use the bandwidth that we've already paid instead of getting robbed by the f**king AT&T again just to use the feature.
2. An option to close all apps with a single button.
3. openssh and iFile - direct access/manipulation of my files on the device without going through itunes.

A curved display is worthless unless the phone is truly bendable.

gamerscul9870 - November 10, 2013 at 10:42pm
Hopefully no curved tablets from samsuck, god no!...

mathis - November 10, 2013 at 10:14pm
wtf???!!!
curved - what practical use does that serve?
5.5 inch? that is too big to be comfortably held in one hand.

ShadowOne - November 10, 2013 at 9:08pm
I definitely don't want a curved display. Didn't even like the curved back of my iphone 3G. Let's alone the display itself.

gamerscul9870 - November 10, 2013 at 9:47pm
Not same performance or speed, only apple has gold edition phone, apple keeps the same screen, samsung doesn't have mini versions of pc's (like mac mini) and no desktops from samsung!

gamerscul9870 - November 11, 2013 at 2:22am

Stay_Metal420 - November 11, 2013 at 5:06pm
Umm stop, Samsung has a gold edition S4. Your statement is invalid.
0
gamerscul9870 - November 11, 2013 at 5:55pm
But it wasn't there idea first, comeback invalid!

Stay_Metal420 - November 11, 2013 at 6:14pm
He said "only apple has gold edition phone," therefor the fact it wasn't Samsung's idea first, is irrelevant. He was wrong by saying only apple has a gold edition phone. Also Samsung had gold edition phones before the iPhone was invented.

They'll do it just to get picky sheeps who switched to note 3 what they to switch back to iphone in this form, they wan t a frickin bigger screen for a phone, not to mention how people think apple is slow just because they keep the 4" screen and now they think they are catching up to competition by releasing this! I just hope they still keep the 4" version forever!
0
gamerscul9870 - November 10, 2013 at 6:33pm
and by picky, I mean when all they want is big screen and switch to a note for that, they don't care that much for speed or any other performance!

David Daniels - November 10, 2013 at 6:08pm
That would be so awesome!! I'm sure they'll keep the two sizes so everyone will be pleased. I can't wait.

Wicwbycub - November 10, 2013 at 6:03pm
Would be cool. But I'll believe it when I see it.

Alen - November 10, 2013 at 5:59pm
No way..Apple won't release an iPhablet.
0
Nonsense - November 12, 2013 at 5:49am
Apple also wouldn't release a smaller ipad or a cheaper iphone, yet they both exist.
0
gamerscul9870 - November 12, 2013 at 12:04pm
Well it's gor people who want plastic for a phone and whoever wants a smalled tablet like the mini! But sadly they should do this because several people only worry about big screen more than specs and buy a note, soon they will switch back!
