Piper Jaffary analyst Gene Munster is out with a new investor note on Apple, predicting the company with launch a 'blockbuster' iPhone 6 with a larger display next summer, reports Business Insider.
ETNews recently claimed that the iPhone will have its 4-inch display increased to at least 5-inches. This aligns somewhat with a WSJ report that said Apple is investigating screen sizes from 4.8-inches to 6-inches. Ming-Chi Kuo has also issued an investor note predicting that Apple will release a larger iPhone in 2014 with 4.5-inch to 5-inch display.
Munster is bullish on Apple giving it a $640 price target. He notes that last year the stock went down during the December quarter to March quarter; however, Munster says this year iPhone 5s demand will be more sustained. Also, enthusiasm about a sooner than expected iPhone 6 will reportedly offset any concern about 5s sales inevitably slowing.
He also says he thinks Apple has a computerized wristwatch, dubbed the "iWatch", and television set in the works, and the gossip about those products should buoy the stock.
The investor note comes ahead of Apple's earnings announcement on Monday.
The rumour came from a Japanese magazine Mac Fan. http://techglen.com/2013/11/02/apple-iphone-6-rumour/ .The report says that the Apple’s next-generation iPhone will support a 1,920-by-1,080-pixel 5-inch display packing in 440 pixels per inch.
This will be so wrong, if Apple are going for it it's only because they forgot about us or whats Apple stands for and only care about competing with Samsung I mean being blinded by the mighty $$$, I really hope that if they do go for a big phone they will give us a choice of two phones with the same upgrades and one will be the same size as the 5S which for a phone is a perfect size, when I want something bigger I reach for my iPad!
If they do, please let's hope they also keep the same 4" like we want it so they can release it in 2 sizes but the only reason they'll do this is because they are being forced to by competitors and to get picky people back over screen sizes!
The iPhone has always been optimized for use by 1 hand alone which limited the screen size to what your thumb can reach. Usage however shows that people use it it two hands too. As the limiting factor there is the width of the phone as you need to hold it firmly with one hand, Apple can comfortably bridge the 4" Phone and 8" tablet with a 6" Phablet device.
Just adding flavor!! The 5.7 for the one who like that, and the one you all got now. This is another battle to recover the 80 millions of bigscreens users.
Apple should not change the overall size of the phone... smaller top/bottom/sides bezels. A bigger phone would mean more fragmentation and one handed use would not work.
If you do the math they will most likely bring out 4.8" and 5.5" screens as for each one there would be another row and column of apps added on the home screen
Oh dear god please don't let there ever be an iPhone w/a screen bigger than 4.5" ever exist, that tablet shit is stupid, I don't mind the 4.7" screen on my HTC one M7, but even that's still pushing it
Unfortunately they need to compete with galaxy s4 and the galaxy note which is are customizable and is not the droid of yester year. I'd had iphone since 3G and I have a note 3 and I enjoy the note much better. Infact I'd get rid of iphone completely if they ever truly ended jailbreak.
Pfft, like the end of jb is ever going to happen, that's like saying the end of technology! Only picky users who worry about screen size like you just want THAT only to get the most out of their phone!
Ummmm didn't the end of JB happen??? I mean when was the last time JB was ever out? JB era is over... For 2yrs these JB people been saying "don't upgrade were close"

I wouldn't mind if they made a bigger iPhone, IF they also made a smaller one... Since I bought an iPad I never watch movies, browse, or do anything else on the iPhone that requires a big screen, and I'd love to have a smaller simpler phone/music player. Same width, but not as tall, for me it would be awesome.
