Apple has posted a new 'Life on iPad' webpage that highlights six stories of where the iPad is being used.

Siemens Energy-Wind Service
The wind power industry depends on the service technicians who climb to great heights, often in extreme weather conditions, to keep the turbines running as efficiently as possible. Now iPad is helping the technicians work more efficiently, too.

Bridie Farrell, Champion Speedskater
Bridie Farrell is making a comeback. A world-class speedskater who took nearly a decade off from the sport, she’s using new technology to prepare for her toughest competition yet.

Christian Gastón Palmaz, Director of Operations, Palmaz Vineyards
At Palmaz Vineyards in Napa, California, master vintner Christian Gastón Palmaz analyzes powerful data on iPad to transform the way he manages his winery from the vineyard to the tanks — and even the tasting room.

Mark Post, Riviera Racing Team Owner and Driver
In off-road endurance races like the Baja 1000, just crossing the finish line is considered an accomplishment. Riviera Racing uses iPad to maximize the chances of getting there first.

Jeff Whiting, Director and Choreographer
Behind the magic of every Broadway show are hundreds of thousands of steps, all precisely calculated, staged, rehearsed, and perfected. Jeff Whiting uses iPad to stage every move his actors make.

Dr. Itaru Endo, Director of Digestive Surgery and Liver Transplantation, Yokohama City University
Liver surgeries are particularly complicated and difficult. And surgeons are often without valuable information in their operating rooms. That’s why Dr. Itaru Endo and Fraunhofer MEVIS have developed an iPad app that displays interactive patient data during surgery to save time — and lives.

Taking video or pictures with an ipad is like cutting butter with an ipad. You can do it, but you shouldn't.

What, you still buy that lighter, faster, thinner BS??? OMG that last gen. Ipad was so freaking heavy, I didn't know what to do with my life when every app that I opened took 4 seconds of my life and now because the processor is so much faster I don't have to wait as long..... And the thickness.... Don't even get me started. Really people????? Get a life!!! Are you so out of shape and fat that an extra pound or two in your backpack or hand is too much weight?? Don't you realize that you are a product of a marketing campaign? Guess not, that's why apple products are so expensive! Supply and demand, bunch of tools!!!!
Great. - November 22, 2013 at 7:07pm
Just because people prefer something lighter etc doesn't mean they are weak. It just means they have the right to use their hard earned money to buy what they want.
