Samsung has unveiled its concept for a Smart Bike. The bike was created in conjunction with Maestro Giovanni Pelizzoli -- a world famed frame builder -- and a young student -- Alice Biotti.
This is the first bicycle that protects the rider thanks to its safety components, controlled by a Samsung Smartphone. It comes with an innovative bicycle-frame that neutralizes the most dangerous vibrations to the human body, 4 laser beams to alert other drivers that the bike is coming along, an integrated GPS system to tell local authorities which routes should be immediately turned into real bike-lanes.
Samsung Smart Bike integrates within its frame innovative smart-components (such as a battery, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth + Arduino module, 4 laser-projectors and a digital-camera) controlling them through a smartphone. In particular, the rear view camera allows the rider to always watch his back, thanks to a real-time video-stream on the Samsung smartphone.
With 4 built-in laser beams, Samsung Smart Bike projects a bike-lane, so that other drivers can mind the safety-distance and the rider can be seen even around blind-corners. A responsive “safety-environment” that detects ambient-conditions and protects the driver in real-time, for example by switching-on or off the laser beams according to the brightness sensor of the paired smartphone. In addiction, a GPS system tracks people’s daily routes and let local authorities know which ones should be immediately turned into real bike-lanes.
Curvy aluminum tubes are able to neutralize the most dangerous vibration to the body, providing a comfortable ride.
The Samsung Smart Bike week was presented during the 2014 Milan Design Week. Take a look at the video below for more details...
