The doulCi Team is claiming to have downgraded an iPhone 4S from iOS 7.1 to iOS 5.1.1 without SHSH blobs.
doulCi Team @ Aquaxetine @Minicrissofficial @Merruktechnolog just announced a wonderful news,an breakthrough on the world of iDevice, yes, never done before , a downgrade of an iphone 4s from os 7.1 to 5.1.1 . And this all without the use of blobs! amazing heh !
At this point in time we have not been able to verify their claims; however, the team did manage to provide a partial bypass to Apple's activation lock in the past, allowing users to access information on locked devices.
Earlier this month, when iH8Sn0w was asked about a downgrade without SHSH blobs, he said:
"Well... Two ways that can be played off is with an on-boot bootrom exploit such a 24kpwn or some kloader bootstrap from the latest iOS (of course already jailbroken) to a previous iOS.
Probability of the first one, I have no clue. The second one? You can do it right now (check winocm's github. Details are limited though!)... However, it does require an already jailbroken device."
DoulCi Team doesn't provide proof of a successful downgrade but we'll let you know if their claims are legitimate as soon as possible.
