Apple CEO Tim Cook Says He Does 80% of His Work on an iPad and So Should Everyone Else

Apple CEO Tim Cook tells the WSJ that he does 80% of the work running the world's most valuable company on the iPad.

"There's no reason why everyone shouldn't be like that," Mr. Cook said in an interview discussing the company's new partnership with IBM to develop applications for business and enterprise. "Imagine enterprise apps being as simple as the consumer apps that we've all gotten used to. That's the way it should be."

The companies are planning to create over 100 apps for various industries. The first apps should be available alongside the release of iOS 8.

Cook tells the WSJ that laptops still outnumber tablets by three-to-one in business environments; however, that may change if IBM and Apple can create apps that let workers do their jobs in "fundamentally different and fundamentally better" ways.

"You can envision the day when everyone in every enterprise has one," said Cook.

TimCookIsBo$$ - July 20, 2014 at 1:59pm
We all know, IBM chose the badass company they can go way above and beyond their success.
thedoger82 - July 20, 2014 at 2:08pm
firts failure of apple was to do bussiness with IBM many years ago, lets hope it happens again
TimCookIsBo$$ - July 20, 2014 at 2:30pm
First off what failure happened if ipad and iPhone are recommended, even the macs, just look at how many are used. Let's hope it stays that way, IBM did this because they're expanding where people hear about the products or whoever is too poor for anything.

Lots of trolling here so no thanks, but to answer a few inane responses: Lots of people do work on their iPads, and it's become integrated into many businesses, including medical and government. I just don't know how someone can claim to do 80% of their CEO work on it. philme you may like your Surface Pro but you're in the minority. Microsoft is laying off 18000 people. For a start. Lots of lies about defective iPads. The warranty is probably the best in the industry, so calling BS on claims that people have just bought them and they are failing.
philme - July 19, 2014 at 1:22pm
you mean he got a surface pro 3 lol he not telling the truth the surface pro 3 Win this war if you want to BS kill some time get a ipad now if want do some real work Mr tom cook use your surface pro 3

How is this possible? He talks into it for hours on end, or uses a keyboard? I don't know any tech executives that accomplish this, personally.

You're a joke and your name says it all with. It says right there "iPad for business". Where else would people use it other than home or school. Try proving this a joke. My HIGH school has every room with iPads used because it's recommended. If you even bothered looking at the ads, it's for anyone at any AGE. Get your 'facts' straight before myth making.
Bigdaddy - July 17, 2014 at 7:22pm
The problem user when companies start using iPads is that they can't keep buying iPads every freakin' 3 to 5 years because Apple may stop supporting that model. Unlike LAPTOPS which can be used for a longer time once it's been purchased. I would hate for my company to keeping upgrading after a few years because of slow downs and apps no longer be compatible with my model. If Apple wants enterprise users they need to stop making these produce go obsolete within a few years.

Kathy - July 17, 2014 at 5:26pm
If they made the devices better and more reliable sure but I recently bought an iPad for myself and hubby and I use headphones for audio and already on both units the speakers have failed and the headphone jack failed on mind so all they are good for now is paper weight!!
bill43235 - July 17, 2014 at 7:12pm
Well guess what Kathy? You must really abuse your iPad as I have several that my toddlers throw around and drop repeatedly and they never break, but guess what? Your iPad will be fixed for free if you just take it to your local apple store! Amazing but true.
{Anthony} - July 17, 2014 at 8:24pm
JEEEEEZ! It's so annoying to sit here and read these stupid comments.... Just bought an iPad and already it does not work?.... Kathy - You can either stop lying, or take your refurbished iPad's back to where you bought them. Not bragging but I have almost every Apple iphone and 1 ipad 4 and an ipad air, I also have 4 and a 2 year old boys, the kid's break before the devices do.

bill and anthony, go to the apple forum and you'll see what people are going thru you GayBoys liers, people looking for answers and apple does not answer any of them, thousands of people got rip by apple.I've had just about everything apple and it's the worse ever, apple product are hollow, crap don't last and it's a fuking lie they they fix them, they don't even know how to fix them. All they know is to ask you for a $100 and hand you a refurbished item back. My iphone 5s after a year stop getting cellular signal out of nowhere, they your contract had expired, how convenient for then exactly a year, and they ask me for $ 200 being that it was a 64gb, i said go fuk yourself, took it to a friend replaced the antenna paid $35 and sold it, bought me a Nokia an its the est thing ever. So apple no more.
