i think you didnt restore 3.0 on itunes thats why redsnow does not accept your firmware to jailbreak

Can anyone give me a hand? I don't understand why iPod1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw doesn't get recognized by redsn0w I followed all the instructions and still doesn't work please let me know if anyone else has this problem.

Can I use redsn0w it with 3.1.3? I've already read a previous post with 3.1 problems and it seams that it's not possible. Can anyone be more accurate (like "no, it's not possible" or "Yes, it's possible"... :))) ) Thanks AJ

I tried 3.1 Since it is available, but no luck with redsn0w... iTunes restored properly from iPod1,1_3.1.1_7C145_Restore.ipsw, but then redsn0w says only "unable to recognize specified IPSW"... :( So i go for 3.0 now...

im having a problem with cydia. it will not load anymore. hit the icon and it acts like its gonna load but throws you right back to the spring board. anyone know why? it started doing that after i downloaded an app called "mewseek" so i was thinking can i just "re-jailbreak" with out reloading the 3.0 firmware. just reuse the redsnow program to rewrite the files or am i really gonna mess up the 2g itouch????????

No point jailbreaking now if you haven't already, 3.1 firmware comes out in 3 days

Excellent I followed the instruction and it works in 2 to 3 minutes but make sure not to disconnect ur ipod till u see the "slide to unlock" screen. ALso Redsn0w 0.8 has ICY AND CYDIA redsn0w and iClarified rocks. THE best AND MOST simple tutrial for the iPodtouch 2g 3.0 JailBreak

You wait. Or if it doesnt work after 10 mins, unplug cable and reconnect.

You have to upgrade the firmware to 3.0 first before doing any jailbreak. It works smoothly now.

i've got an ipod 2g with os 3.0 and jailbreaking with redsn0w 0.8 DIDN'T WORK! i used redn0w 0.7.2 instead and it worked perfectly the first time. fyi for any mac users out there!

Very nice (and clear) tut, but aaargh, somewhere it needs to mention that you're going to lose all your emails/notes/savegames/settings/etc... It doesn't say that *anywhere*, and I lost everything.

it will delete it but before u jailbreak it u are supposto back it up and then when u jailbreak it u select on itunes to restor to your ipod settings before you jailbreak it! and if you follow these directions right it will work fine am i correct cause i am scares to try it and it possibly mess up my ipod touch 2g 16 gig

So I decided to tell you that I've jailbroken my iPod touch 1G and it worked fine. AND, I promised myself that if this shit works, I will be translating the guide for iClarified to swedish. If you just Jailbreak only that is no need for internet. You need to have iTunes 8.2 to turn on and for PC just hold down ( Shift ) key and click restore on iTunes. Add your 3.0 firmware. To unlock using Ultrasn0m you need to have WiFi in order to do the job.

Can someone please post a link to the new iPod Touch 2G 3.0 firmware. The ones I've already tried seem to only be from torrent sites or .dmg extensions. I need the ipsw to run on windows. Thanks

What's the difference between the two iPod Touch2 files... it see you posted 2 parts, isn't it only 1 file per device?

please, somebody helps me .. i did the same exactly like what this tutorials says ... but at the last step .. my ipod was not " uploading ramdisk " ,. only " waiting for reboot and then "done" with the "finish" button is shown in 10 seconds ..... then it just stay like that . i dont understand ...... somebody help me pls ?
