Thanks a million for all the hard work! Great tutorial. The only thing that stumped me for a while was accessing the 1.1.1 firmware, I had downloaded it with Safari and it automatically decompressed. Little googling sorted that for me. Thanks again!!

It is possible to update to 1.1.2 with all iPhones. Follow the steps in the tutorial to accomplish this.

I'm getting hung up on the java app part. . it never actually fills up the bar and installs it like it shows in the pic on the tutorial. . other then that the phone is activated and running smoothly. .I guess i dont need to do this but it would shure be nice to have the latest firmware. any suggestions?

STEP 22 issue cleard. After spending 3 days and trying all different time to pass step 22 I found out why t doesn't work. You must disable your Wirless encryption (WEP) to make a successfull connection. I hope this will save you time. This is a great tutorial, thank you.

Just use Firefox to download it. It doesn't unzip it. Thats the easiest solution...

Can I "restore" my phone from the backup in iTunes or do I have to reset ALL the settings and whatnot? I would imagine that I would do the "restore" after installing 1.1.2 but at the same time, the phone is activated again so will that screw with jailbreak 1.1.2?

I dont think that the download for Version 1.1.1 is correct. I download the fill and when i open it, it says restore.plist ????

I have the same problem as Bruno. It's not a single file, there are many. It unpacks automatically and becomes a folder.

Fellow jailbreakers, still stuck on step 22 (check the PC comments). Any suggestions other than trying another 50 times?

Sorry anySIM currently won't run on the new bootloader phones. It doesn't matter that you downgraded to 1.1.1.

Also, I'd like to note that if the jailbreakme.com problems aren't resolved by tonight I will modify the instructions to not use that method. Stay tuned.

after downgrading and performing JAILBREAK 1.1.1 can it be possible to load anysim and use the phone functions operating 1.1.1 firmware i.e. without upgrading to 1.1.2?

Steps 3 & 4 can now be removed as iNdependence has just been updated to 1.3.1 this works with Tiger, Leopard & iTunes 7.5 Tested

Bruno : Do ONLY This; Download the 1.1.1 ipsw firmware file from Apple. If the downloaded file has the extension ".zip", please remove it and modify it to end up with a filename ending in _Restore.ipsw (Will be a kinda Cube Icon) (Works for Me -on a Mac)
