CDFinder 5.6.1 Released

Norbert M. Doerner has released CDFinder 5.6.1, an update to the popular disk library cataloger. CDFinder keeps track of your digital files, photos, songs, movies, on hard disks, CDROMs, Blu-ray disks, DVD-ROMs, server disks, and any other digital media. CDFinder 5.6.1 now catalogs EyeTV recordings, offers a street-level map for the innovative GeoFinder GPS photo search, and has many bug fixes.

New CDFinder 5.6.1 feature Highlights:
* CDFinder now supports Elgato EyeTV recordings (.eyetv). CDFinder will show the thumbnail for the recording, and also extensive metadata as well, such as the EPG description, director, actors, and much more. All that is cataloged, displayed, and can of course be searched as well.

* The GeoFinder inside CDFinder now uses the street-level OpenStreetMap for the GPS search (requires 10.5 or newer)! That is much nicer than the built-in map, but since it requires Internet access, the old map is still available.

* New CoverPrint templates: one for US-Letter format Avery 5692 labels, and one more for the HP Photosmart Direct Print.

* Double clicking a found item coming from iPhoto will now show this item in iPhoto. There is also a contextual menu command for this, too. You can get iPhoto results by using the GeoFinder, and asking it to search the iPhoto 8 database, too

CDFinder highlights:
Metadata - CDFinder catalogs metadata of songs, movies, and photos, including the MP3-Tags of several audio file formats, EXIF and IPTC data of photos, and Adobe XMP. All these are clearly arranged in the user interface, and can be extensively searched. For numerous photo and video formats, CDFinder generates thumbnails during cataloging, displaying them in all list and icon views.

Integration - Offering a tight connection to major productivity tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, FileMaker Pro, Roxio Toast, Apples Spotlight, Finder, and iPhoto, and the extensive support of drag&drop into other applications, CDFinder can support many workflow scenarios.

Geotagging - While many tools now catalog geotags, only CDFinder offers the cool GeoFinder, which searches for photos taken near a spot, even including the photos in your iPhoto 8 database, or the KMZ export for coordinates and photo thumbnails as a way to give geolocated photos to friends.

Networking - Store your catalog database on a server for access from all Macs in the network, and with the sidekick product CDWinder for Windows even from all PC's from the dark side.

Since the initial release of CDFinder 1.0 in 1995, more than 43,000 customers in 83 countries around the world, including NASA, IKEA, BBC, Mattel, Rand McNally, Random House, and Warner Bros., are using CDFinder to organize their digital library, and manage their data archive and backups.

Language support:
German, English, French, Swedish, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch

Pricing and Availability:
CDFinder 5.6.1 is a free update to licensed users of CDFinder 5.x. A free demo version can be downloaded from the CDFinder website, the price for new users starts at 29 Euro. Multiple user packs are available for network users.
