The Battery in the Apple Watch is Replaceable

Posted March 10, 2015 at 3:44pm by
Apple has confirmed that the battery in the Apple Watch will be replaceable, reports TechCrunch. Under normal use the battery is expected to have a lifecycle of around three years.

Well, when it comes to the battery at least, owners of Apple Watch will be able to extend its lifespan. An Apple spokesman confirmed to TechCrunch the “battery is replaceable”. Albeit, it’s not clear how much it will cost to send in your wearable to Apple to get it returned with a new cell in place.

Apple recently detailed the expected battery life of the Apple Watch under various conditions. You can fine their estimates here.

The company wouldn't comment on whether any other components of the smart watch, such as CPU or RAM, would be upgradeable.

i hope it's easy to disassemble. then the customization possibilities are endless. there will be companies that will plate the steel in gold or can polish and anodize the aluminum. better than wasting 10,000 on the gold version.

But is it worth what we would pat for them? Is the cost even worth their watches if they were to sell?

Think of those small pill circular shaped batteries mentioned months back! You know, the one where it lasts 20 years? If only we can connect that to the watch!!

well of course apple will not let you upgrade other components because they're going to issue an os update that will kill the battery life of tour watch and make it slow as molasses.then they will sell you Apple Watch 2.0
