I used the same jailbreak (TaiG) for iOS 7 and ran into the "getting stuck" part. I'm not sure if the iOS 8 jailbreak is similar in any way, but I found that when I set my Parallels virtual windows machine to 2 CPUs instead of one (quad core system) it powered right through the jailbreak without an issue. Everything prior to that, using older iTunes versions, etc., didn't help get me past the sticking point. As an FYI, I also had the USB connection directly connected to the virtual machine and not the virtualized USB. More advanced Parallels users probably know what I'm referring to.

I upgraded and jail broke my iPhone with no problems (aside from waiting forever at 60%). However, my iPad didn't do as well. Instead of getting stuck at 20%, the jb would sit at 60% for 2+ hours before failing. I followed the advice about trying again (uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes) and now the jail break can no longer "See" the iTunes driver, despite my having no troubles using iTunes. So now I've got an unjailbreakable iPad. I'm paranoid that upgrading iTunes may prevent me from upgrading my phone too.
Like most of the JBs by TaiG, they aren't very good at debugging their tools. This JB tool should NEVER have been released until it was properly debugged.
Even worse, when I tried on subsequent attempts, I got 5 different error codes, some claiming things which just weren't true.
Use at your own risk.

I've been trying to jailbreak my iPhone 6 for the last two days and I can't get it to work at all .... I've removed all iTunes and went to the 12.0.1 and iTunes couldn't see my 6 because it's newer so I uninstalled everything thing again and then tryed the one above the other one and it works but gets stuck on 20% so then I tryed restoring my iPhone 6 and tryed it again and it didn't work ..... I need help , I know what I'm doing.

Do a clean install of windows as a last resort. Then install iTunes 12.0.1, then the jailbreak. Them do a backup of your phone. Then do a clean restore to 8.3, then perform the jailbreak. Then restore from your backup. Fail safe...it WILL work

Yes!! It worked! What a nail biting process that was. I've never hated the number 60 so much in my life, haha! So this is exactly what I did, no more, no less...I didn't restore my phone or put it in airplane mode, I just left everything alone (after turning off passcode and find my iPhone). I have Windows 8.1, 64 bit:
1- I uninstalled/deleted all this stuff: Apple Application Support, Apple Application Support x64 and x86, Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, iTunes.
2- I downloaded and installed: iTunes64Setup_12.0.1.26 and then iTunesDriver64_0205.
3- Plugged in my phone and started TaiGJBreak_EN_2000.
4- I Waited and stared at the screen. It got to 20%, restarted and continued to 60% where it seemed like it stalled for hours (it was really about 10 minutes), it restarted a few more times and IT WORKED!!
A huge thanks to everyone who offered up these solutions!!

Dude...you make it sound like it was rocket science to you. It's a VERY simple process. Be glad you weren't jailbreaking when tethered jailbreaks were all that were available before the untether was released. You'd never have gotten it. I swear...you noobs need to at least learn a little about your devices and how software works before you try to jailbreak ANYTHING!!!

No need to be an a-hole. No jailbreak before these past few ones had been so challenging. Different processes work for different people and their computers.

If you can properly install iTunes 12.0.1 and follow simple instructions...yes. If you lack the knowledge to do those things...NO. A jailbreak will be nothing but trouble for someone who doesn't even have a basic understanding of what it does. These one-clicks are the devil I tell ya...lol

Substrate based tweaks do not work. I will say this again. SUBSTRATE BASED TWEAKS DO NOT WORK. One of these postings about the jailbreak says that plainly. What that means is that springtomize, barrel, app sync, almost all of the jailbreak tweaks won't work yet. It's a new jailbreak, and a Cydia Substrate patch will come soon. Just be patient. That's the bad thing about these one click jailbreaks, people who have no idea what is actually happening with their device are jailbreaking. I miss the days of Redsn0w, where you at least had to have a little knowledge, so all these stupid noob questions and posts didn't pop up all the time.

Right dude! Lol. If you know what you're doing it's ridiculously easy. I must say though. I did love when iOS 3 was out and you just had to go to jailbreakme.com and swipe the slider and did everything for you right there. But none the less, I hear ya.

Didn't work for me regardless of what I did. Reboots 3 times and then just fails and this is after a clean removal and reinstall of iTunes from the download link provided here. Maybe once the Mac version is released some of these issues will be resolved hopefully? *Using windows 7 premium

No luck. I've tried iTunes 12.0.1, 12.1.0, 12.1.1, and even 12.1.2. Always stuck in 1101. Possibly cos I'm running under a Win7 VM.
I may try a fresh 8.3 installation tomorrow and try again.

Yes I have. Followed the instructions. Rebooted after uninstalling all the Apple related s/w, then installing. One note I am running WIn7 under VMware Fusion.
This morning I see some folks recommending to put in Airplane mode too. May try that later.

Finally resolved and upgraded by resetting and putting on only the base iOS 8.3, then running TAIG JB again. Now restoring my apps/data after the successful JB.

Yes, I succeeded after downgrading iTunes and about 20+ attempts. It is NOT worth it. You can't update apps through the appstore after the JB and most tweaks don't work. I already reverted to stock 8.3.

Thanks! what a waste of time. it's sort of unexpected release as Apple haven't pushed the official 8.4 yet. Is there any trick behind this? or simply untested premature piece to expose the exploit?

Powerofpeople did you get the app store working or not? And if not did you install 3k? I've never hesitated when a jail break was released, but after seeing so many bad reviews I've held off. But fate would have it for me (I'm 2 lazy to update) I'm already on the correct itunes :)

JollySonx: after JB, I could update using app store, in my case updated "Yahoo Weather" to 5.0.1 just now without issue. it's a free app, so not sure how about paid app thou. in addition, MobileSubstrate right now hasn't yet been updated for iOS 8.3 so the available tweaks we can play with are limited. as for 3k, I installed but haven't used them before, would try if I don't find a working AppSync for 8.3.

Of course people still jailbreak. You mean YOU don't? I do so mainly for Pandora hacks and to be able to customize my springboard. It's full control of your device! The problem you speak of is that most people who jailbreak don't know how to control their device with root privileges. That's their own fault for attempting to do things either beyond their knowledge level or ability to understand.

....and I forgot to add that you are obviously one of those people who shouldn't be jailbreaking because you attempt to do things you don't or can't understand. Some people shouldn't be allowed root..LIKE YOU!!!

Yeah, I'm spending a helluva lot of time trying to jailbreak due to a bugged program / wrong instructions. But it's not to show off - jailbreaking opens up the possibilities of the phone and that is what I enjoy more than enjoying using the phone as standard.
