I used the same jailbreak (TaiG) for iOS 7 and ran into the "getting stuck" part. I'm not sure if the iOS 8 jailbreak is similar in any way, but I found that when I set my Parallels virtual windows machine to 2 CPUs instead of one (quad core system) it powered right through the jailbreak without an issue. Everything prior to that, using older iTunes versions, etc., didn't help get me past the sticking point. As an FYI, I also had the USB connection directly connected to the virtual machine and not the virtualized USB. More advanced Parallels users probably know what I'm referring to.

will iTunes work?
davian - June 29, 2015 at 5:08pm
me acaba de pasar lo del 20%, simplemente despues de esperar, solo desbloquee el iphone y listo!
davian - June 29, 2015 at 5:09pm
tambien me paso en el 60%, lo desbloqueo... y lsito!
NoGoodNick - June 25, 2015 at 7:43pm
I upgraded and jail broke my iPhone with no problems (aside from waiting forever at 60%). However, my iPad didn't do as well. Instead of getting stuck at 20%, the jb would sit at 60% for 2+ hours before failing. I followed the advice about trying again (uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes) and now the jail break can no longer "See" the iTunes driver, despite my having no troubles using iTunes. So now I've got an unjailbreakable iPad. I'm paranoid that upgrading iTunes may prevent me from upgrading my phone too. Like most of the JBs by TaiG, they aren't very good at debugging their tools. This JB tool should NEVER have been released until it was properly debugged. Even worse, when I tried on subsequent attempts, I got 5 different error codes, some claiming things which just weren't true. Use at your own risk.

Follow the steps that I posted below. IT WILL WORK.

How are you accessing Windows? e.g., direct boot or Parallels/Virtual Machine?

I've been trying to jailbreak my iPhone 6 for the last two days and I can't get it to work at all .... I've removed all iTunes and went to the 12.0.1 and iTunes couldn't see my 6 because it's newer so I uninstalled everything thing again and then tryed the one above the other one and it works but gets stuck on 20% so then I tryed restoring my iPhone 6 and tryed it again and it didn't work ..... I need help , I know what I'm doing.

Do a clean install of windows as a last resort. Then install iTunes 12.0.1, then the jailbreak. Them do a backup of your phone. Then do a clean restore to 8.3, then perform the jailbreak. Then restore from your backup. Fail WILL work
usmc8408 - June 25, 2015 at 1:45am
Yes!! It worked! What a nail biting process that was. I've never hated the number 60 so much in my life, haha! So this is exactly what I did, no more, no less...I didn't restore my phone or put it in airplane mode, I just left everything alone (after turning off passcode and find my iPhone). I have Windows 8.1, 64 bit: 1- I uninstalled/deleted all this stuff: Apple Application Support, Apple Application Support x64 and x86, Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, iTunes. 2- I downloaded and installed: iTunes64Setup_12.0.1.26 and then iTunesDriver64_0205. 3- Plugged in my phone and started TaiGJBreak_EN_2000. 4- I Waited and stared at the screen. It got to 20%, restarted and continued to 60% where it seemed like it stalled for hours (it was really about 10 minutes), it restarted a few more times and IT WORKED!! A huge thanks to everyone who offered up these solutions!!
Wow..... - June 25, 2015 at 4:21am make it sound like it was rocket science to you. It's a VERY simple process. Be glad you weren't jailbreaking when tethered jailbreaks were all that were available before the untether was released. You'd never have gotten it. I noobs need to at least learn a little about your devices and how software works before you try to jailbreak ANYTHING!!!
LinSilDav - June 26, 2015 at 9:31pm
No need to be an a-hole. No jailbreak before these past few ones had been so challenging. Different processes work for different people and their computers.

Should we jailbreak or not

The iDevice Pro - June 24, 2015 at 7:03pm
If you can properly install iTunes 12.0.1 and follow simple instructions...yes. If you lack the knowledge to do those things...NO. A jailbreak will be nothing but trouble for someone who doesn't even have a basic understanding of what it does. These one-clicks are the devil I tell
The iDevice Pro
The iDevice Pro - June 24, 2015 at 1:46pm
Substrate based tweaks do not work. I will say this again. SUBSTRATE BASED TWEAKS DO NOT WORK. One of these postings about the jailbreak says that plainly. What that means is that springtomize, barrel, app sync, almost all of the jailbreak tweaks won't work yet. It's a new jailbreak, and a Cydia Substrate patch will come soon. Just be patient. That's the bad thing about these one click jailbreaks, people who have no idea what is actually happening with their device are jailbreaking. I miss the days of Redsn0w, where you at least had to have a little knowledge, so all these stupid noob questions and posts didn't pop up all the time.
Gabe - June 24, 2015 at 2:39pm
Right dude! Lol. If you know what you're doing it's ridiculously easy. I must say though. I did love when iOS 3 was out and you just had to go to and swipe the slider and did everything for you right there. But none the less, I hear ya.
Salman80 - June 24, 2015 at 12:05pm
after installing 12.0.1 its getting stucked on first screen.

6italia0 - June 23, 2015 at 11:41pm
Didn't work for me regardless of what I did. Reboots 3 times and then just fails and this is after a clean removal and reinstall of iTunes from the download link provided here. Maybe once the Mac version is released some of these issues will be resolved hopefully? *Using windows 7 premium

mattt - June 23, 2015 at 5:24pm
Had to do it 4 times, first time, taig stopped responding at 20%, second was at 40%, third at 60%, forth went through (forgot to uncheck 3k though).
AnakChan - June 23, 2015 at 4:51pm
No luck. I've tried iTunes 12.0.1, 12.1.0, 12.1.1, and even 12.1.2. Always stuck in 1101. Possibly cos I'm running under a Win7 VM. I may try a fresh 8.3 installation tomorrow and try again.
Dave - June 23, 2015 at 9:31pm
Have you uninstalled iTunes from your computer in the correct order?
AnakChan - June 23, 2015 at 10:52pm
Yes I have. Followed the instructions. Rebooted after uninstalling all the Apple related s/w, then installing. One note I am running WIn7 under VMware Fusion. This morning I see some folks recommending to put in Airplane mode too. May try that later.
AnakChan - June 24, 2015 at 5:08pm
Finally resolved and upgraded by resetting and putting on only the base iOS 8.3, then running TAIG JB again. Now restoring my apps/data after the successful JB.
mattt - June 23, 2015 at 4:14pm
Having an issue installing iTunes on my Windows 8.1 computer. When I download 12.0, it almost finishes the install then says "rolling back" saying an error has occurred. Using Windows 8.1 64bit on my bootcamped macbook pro retina
chris2245 - June 23, 2015 at 4:41pm
go into uninstall program and get rid of all apple programs even bonjour reboot this worked for me
mattt - June 23, 2015 at 5:11pm
worked for me, thanks!
Cksam2312 - June 25, 2015 at 1:28am
You need to go to control panel and uninstall all apple programs and then do a fresh install of iTunes.
PowerOfPeople - June 23, 2015 at 4:02pm
Anyone had a successful JB by this TaiGJB2.0.0???
tokm - June 23, 2015 at 4:15pm
Yes, I succeeded after downgrading iTunes and about 20+ attempts. It is NOT worth it. You can't update apps through the appstore after the JB and most tweaks don't work. I already reverted to stock 8.3.
PowerOfPeople - June 23, 2015 at 4:30pm
Thanks! what a waste of time. it's sort of unexpected release as Apple haven't pushed the official 8.4 yet. Is there any trick behind this? or simply untested premature piece to expose the exploit?
PowerOfPeople - June 23, 2015 at 6:48pm
THANK YOU TaiG TEAM! YOU ARE THE HERO! after several tries I could JB iOS8.3. Wasted time in trying several times to "clean" uninstall non version of itune. this link helps(cf
JollySonX - June 23, 2015 at 7:25pm
Powerofpeople did you get the app store working or not? And if not did you install 3k? I've never hesitated when a jail break was released, but after seeing so many bad reviews I've held off. But fate would have it for me (I'm 2 lazy to update) I'm already on the correct itunes :)
PowerOfPeople - June 24, 2015 at 2:05am
JollySonx: after JB, I could update using app store, in my case updated "Yahoo Weather" to 5.0.1 just now without issue. it's a free app, so not sure how about paid app thou. in addition, MobileSubstrate right now hasn't yet been updated for iOS 8.3 so the available tweaks we can play with are limited. as for 3k, I installed but haven't used them before, would try if I don't find a working AppSync for 8.3.
PowerOfPeople - June 24, 2015 at 2:14am
b/t/w I'm on a fresh new iphone6, Window Vista
JollySonX - June 24, 2015 at 8:44am
Cheers for the info mate, jail break here I come (:
dranoel - June 23, 2015 at 3:53pm
i still have the same problem at 20%
Aravind - June 23, 2015 at 6:36pm
See the other post in iClarified . Uninstall all the iTunes softwares , then reboot ur pc . Then download and install the iTunes they provided you . Keep your mobile in airplane mode , disable passcode lock and icloud lock . Then jailbreak . It will be done . :)

SUBSTRATE TWEAKS DON'T WORK>.....what did you not understand about that statement? You are the prime example of the type of idiot that iDevice Pro guy was talking about
iPhoneGeek24 - June 23, 2015 at 3:05pm
Is anyone having issues, that there stuck on 60% or it usually takes a while ?
Acastrov9 - June 23, 2015 at 3:39pm
i am! please let me know if you find a solution
iPhoneGeek - June 23, 2015 at 3:47pm
I got it to work with no problem, with another laptop. I did a fresh installed of the iTunes and jailbreak software and everything ran smooth. I was using Windows 8.1
imgumbydammit - June 23, 2015 at 3:54pm
i was stuck at 60% for a while .. i started closing applications running in the background one by one under task manager until it went past 60%..not sure if that's even a fix but it worked for me! (windows 8.1 pro 64 bit)
Acastrov9 - June 23, 2015 at 5:42pm
Hey, i was stuck at 60%, what fixed it for me was reinstalling everything but with my antivirus deactivated!
Aravind - June 23, 2015 at 6:37pm
Even mine was struck at 60% for a while , then it continued. And jailbreak done perfectly . So , better keep your mobile in airplane mode b4 starting the jailbreak process...

The only issue I have is i cannot get into my setting app after the jailbreak? first time this has happened and I have been jailbreaking since early days. Any suggestions? anyone else have this issues? Thanks.
Nikkburgess - June 23, 2015 at 2:46pm
If you cant handle jailbreaking you should stay away. I think its posted in almost every jailbreak programs disclaimer.... Other than that its not a hard task to manage lol. Noobs.
The iDevice Pro
The iDevice Pro - June 23, 2015 at 2:44pm
Of course people still jailbreak. You mean YOU don't? I do so mainly for Pandora hacks and to be able to customize my springboard. It's full control of your device! The problem you speak of is that most people who jailbreak don't know how to control their device with root privileges. That's their own fault for attempting to do things either beyond their knowledge level or ability to understand.
The iDevice Pro
The iDevice Pro - June 23, 2015 at 2:48pm
....and I forgot to add that you are obviously one of those people who shouldn't be jailbreaking because you attempt to do things you don't or can't understand. Some people shouldn't be allowed root..LIKE YOU!!!
Rupert - June 23, 2015 at 2:33pm
OMG people are still jailbreaking? Face it... You spend 90% of your time when Jailbroken fixing issues and not enjoying the phone just to show off to your friends some little tricks.
David1212 - June 23, 2015 at 2:36pm
Yeah, I'm spending a helluva lot of time trying to jailbreak due to a bugged program / wrong instructions. But it's not to show off - jailbreaking opens up the possibilities of the phone and that is what I enjoy more than enjoying using the phone as standard.
JollySonX - June 23, 2015 at 2:39pm
I've never needed to fix a jail break or fix any thing after jail break, the jail break allows the apps i want.
thisguy - June 23, 2015 at 2:42pm
I don't want to say f you but............
unixes - June 23, 2015 at 6:59pm
90% of my time? Mo man, we spend 10 min - 30 min or even few hours. Then we have an iPhone with a jailbreaked iPhone which is much much better than the stock ios iPhone.
