Apple has issued a statement denying rumors that it's working to launch a mobile virtual network.
Yesterday, a report surfaced that claimed Apple has been privately trialing a MVNO service in the US but is also in talks with telecoms companies in Europe about bringing the service there.
Here's what the company told CNBC:
"We have not discussed nor do we have any plans to launch an MVNO," said an Apple spokeswoman in a statement on Tuesday.
Despite Apple's statement, the company has been interested in becoming a carrier since before the iPhone even launched and rival Google has justed launched a MVNO.

Apple should not (even if they are thinking), get into this. As a consumer I will not want to get tied to only one provider. Even if Apple says you are free to choose others, but they will say you can use this feature (eg FaceTime over cellular) only if you are on "iTalk" (Apple network), else you may not.
