Apple's new 13-inch Macbook Air with M1 chip has arrived. Here's a roundup of reviews and benchmarks for the portable notebook.
We'll be adding new reviews as they get posted so check back for updates!
If you like what you see, Apple's new M1 Macs can be ordered here:
● 13-inch MacBook Air with M1 Chip - $999
● 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Chip - $1299
● Mac mini with M1 Chip - $699
The Verge
At the same time that it launched the new MacBook Air with an M1 processor, Apple discontinued the Intel-based version of the Air. It was a bold move; the MacBook Air is Apple’s best-selling computer, and Apple also just made more money selling Macs last quarter than it ever had before. But it was the right decision. There is not a single reason I can find to want the old Intel version.

The M1-equipped MacBook Air now packs far better performance than its predecessors, rivaling at times the M1-based MacBook Pro. At $999, it’s the best value among macOS laptops.

The new M1-based MacBook Air is simply an amazing laptop. The build quality is among the best you can find, the debut of the Apple M1 SoC is very impressive (even if the jury is still out in some areas), and the battery life is longer than all but a few alternatives. What’s more, and not always a given with Apple products, is that it’s a fantastic value.
