Check Out This iPhone X Prototype in 'Jet Black' [Photos]

Images of an unreleased iPhone X prototype in 'Jet Black' have purportedly surfaced online via Mr·White.

The leaker posted four photos showing the iPhone X in Space Gray next to the alleged prototype in Jet Black saying, "They have tried iPhone X Jet Black before".

Apple released an iPhone 7 in Jet Black back in 2016. The color was popular but suffered from micro abrasions.


The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone.

It's unclear if durability issues resulted in Apple not releasing the jet black iPhone X or if some other factors were at play.
