Apple is adding a new button to the Apple Watch Pro that will likely be user programmable, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
In a post on Twitter today, Gurman confirmed that the leaked renders from this morning do show the design of the Apple Watch Pro and offered the following details...
A couple of things I’d point out regarding the Apple Watch Pro design: - No flat sides. They are rounded like the Series 7. - The new button on the left side is probably programmable to do whatever you want. For instance, launching a specific app, feature or workout.
Additionally, Gurman expects a wide ranging set of new bands for the Apple Watch Pro; as well as, new watch faces that are dense with metrics for fitness.
This isn’t covered in the CAD drawings, but the new set of bands for the Apple Watch Pro is going to be pretty wide ranging and play into the extreme sports theme. There will also be some pretty info dense faces for fitness metrics.
Apple is widely expected to unveil its next generation Apple Watch Series 8 at a special 'Far Out' event on September 7. The standard model will likely look the same as the Series 7 but add a body-temperature sensor and women's health features. A new Pro model will allegedly target sportier customers with a larger and more shatter-resistant display, enhanced tracking for hiking and swimming, longer battery life, and a rugged and premium metal case (likely titanium). The Pro model is expected to cost at least $900 to $1,000.
why? The pro series iPhones start at £1000 and for those people that cannot afford it apple sells the standard range. Makes sense for them to apply this methodology to the watch series with the pro. No one is forcing you to buy it and a nice standard watch is upwards of £2000 so for those of us that want the best Apple smart Watch we can buy the pro
