Apple has updated its developer support page with fresh adoption statistics, revealing that iOS 26 is now installed on 86 percent of iPhones introduced in the last four years. The numbers reflect App Store transactions measured on June 7, 2026.
According to the data, adoption across all active iPhones currently sits at 79 percent. Fourteen percent of devices remain on iOS 18, while 7 percent are running an earlier version. This marks a solid increase from February, when iOS 26 was running on 66 percent of all active iPhones.
iPad upgrade rates continue to trail slightly behind the iPhone. Apple says 79 percent of iPads introduced in the last four years are running iPadOS 26. Across all active iPads, 68 percent are on the latest software, with 17 percent still on iPadOS 18 and 15 percent running older versions.
These updated figures arrive just after Apple released iOS 26.5 with end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging support. Attention is now shifting to the next software cycle, following the company's move to preview iOS 27 and its new Apple Intelligence features at WWDC.
