Google Launches Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live [Video]

Google is launching new Gemini-powered voice features for Gmail, Docs, and Keep, bringing real-time conversation to the three Workspace apps. Called Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live, the capabilities were previewed at Google I/O in May and are rolling out this week.



Gmail Live lets users search their inbox by asking questions instead of digging through messages manually. Queries such as "What's my flight's gate number?" or "What's going on at my kid's school this week?" prompt Gmail to scan the inbox and return an answer. Google previously added Gemini to Gmail for summarizing email threads and answering questions about them.


With Docs Live, users can talk through an idea while Gemini organizes their thoughts and builds a context-aware document. With permission, the feature can pull relevant information from Gmail, Drive, Chat, and the web to help create a first draft. It can also help outline ideas and refine tone.

Keep Live turns spoken thoughts into organized notes, processing a stream of ideas in the background and converting them into structured lists and notes without typing.

Gmail Live and Keep Live are available to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, while Docs Live requires Google AI Pro or Ultra. Google says all three features are coming soon to Google Workspace business customers.
