Apple Highlights AirPods 5 ANC, Live Translation, and Siri AI [Video]

Apple has posted a 50-second video outlining the main features of AirPods 5, including a redesigned acoustic architecture and Active Noise Cancellation that the company says is up to 1.5 times stronger than AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation.

The open-ear earbuds support Transparency mode and Personalized Spatial Audio, which requires an iPhone with a TrueDepth camera to create a profile. Live Translation is also available when AirPods 5 are paired with a compatible Apple Intelligence device running the latest operating system and firmware, though language and regional availability will vary.


AirPods 5 provide hands-free access to Siri AI on iPhone. The assistant is launching in beta with iOS 27, with English available first, and will not initially be offered in the European Union. Apple will sell two versions of the earbuds: AirPods 5 and AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case, with the wireless case model providing up to one additional hour of listening time per charge.
