Apple Demonstrates Hands-Free Siri and HomePod Surround Sound on New Apple TV 4K [Video]

Apple's new Apple TV 4K video puts its hands-free Siri controls, Siri Remote finding, and four-speaker HomePod setup on display. The 89-second tour also shows the box serving as a smart home hub alongside its streaming and gaming apps.

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K has built-in far-field microphones, allowing Siri requests from across the room without using the remote. Apple's video shows viewers asking for something to watch, then finding a misplaced Siri Remote by making it play a sound. The new remote also supports Precision Finding with a compatible iPhone.

For home theater audio, the box can connect to four speakers in matching front and rear pairs of HomePod mini 2 or second-generation HomePods. Apple also highlights its TV, Photos, Fitness+, Music, and Arcade apps, along with smart home controls on the television.

Siri AI is available in beta in tvOS 27.2 and also works on Apple TV 4K models from the second generation onward. The video below shows the new hardware's hands-free features; Siri AI availability and personal requests have separate device, language, and region requirements.
