iPhone Duo Launches in Stores Worldwide [Photos]

iPhone Duo is launching at Apple Store locations around the world today, Friday, October 23. Apple is marking the debut of its first foldable iPhone with images of customers trying the device and collecting their purchases at Apple Jing'an in Shanghai.

The launch-day gallery shows queues outside the store, staff welcoming customers, and demonstrations of the folding display. The photos released so far focus on Shanghai, rather than showing stores across all of the phone's launch markets.

Store teams are offering hands-on demos and Personal Setup assistance to help buyers transfer their data. New Today at Apple sessions include 'Say Hello to iPhone Duo' and 'Tips: What's New in iOS 27 on iPhone.' Specialists can also explain trade-in, leasing, installment, and carrier options, which vary by market and eligibility.

The phone starts at $1,999 in the U.S. and comes in star white and night sky, with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage options. The initial rollout covers more than 70 countries and regions, including the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, China, and Japan. Another 28 markets follow on October 30.

The 5.4-inch outer display opens into a 7.6-inch inner screen, with A20 Pro powering iOS 27.1. Split View allows two apps to run side by side, while supported apps can change their layouts as the phone opens, closes, or rests partially folded.

Apple has also previewed optimized apps from Netflix, Instagram, and other developers, with updates rolling out at launch and over the coming months. The first iPhone Duo reviews offer a closer look at the folding hardware, app behavior, and everyday usability.
