Apple to Abandon Infineon for Qualcomm?

A new report from the Chinese CommercialTimes says that Apple may be abandoning the use of Infineon in favor of a new baseband from Qualcomm.

It's speculated that Apple may be considering the switch in order to bring CDMA capabilities to future iPhones.

Infineon was recently purchased by Intel for $1.4 billion. At the time Intel CEO Paul Otellini says Steve was 'very happy' with their purchase.

The CommercialTimes also says a future version of the iPad 3G will utilize a Qualcomm chip as well.
