More than 50,000 Chinese customers pre-ordered the iPhone 4 and huge lines formed in Beijing for the official launch, according to a CNN FORTUNE report.
More than 50,000 Chinese customers pre-ordered this model, and by 8 a.m., when the doors opened at Apple's new store in Beijing's Joy City shopping mall, the queue was more than 1,000 customers long.
"It's like waiting in line to see a movie star," Sun Jian Kuan, 26, told a Computerworld reporter. "No phone can best the iPhone."

the lines were hardly big in shanghai but it did officially sell out today(mon, 27th). some ppl were buying looking to resell it. supposedly bringing in their grandparents etc whoever extra because of the 2 person limit.
