Teach Me Sushi, known for providing fun and hands-on sushi making lessons throughout the New York area, has announced Teach Me Sushi Expert 1.0, a follow-up to the company's self-titled application which earned the distinction of "App of the Week" in the U.K. iPhone App Store, as well as positions on the U.S. App Store's "New and Noteworthy" and "What's Hot" lists.
The first Teach Me Sushi application grew to popularity due to its easy-to-follow instructions and innovative features. The Expert offering takes the lessons a step further, teaching users to create advanced rolls including Shrimp Tempura, Volcano Rolls and Spicy Crunchy Tuna Rolls.
Co-developers Drew Lavyne of filmmaking company Six Minute Stories and Jake Davidow, trained sushi chef and Teach Me Sushi founder, were spurred to create Teach Me Sushi Expert due to the positive response to the company's first application. "We were blown away by the amount of feedback we received," said Lavyne. "People loved the first app and wanted more. We received emails daily with suggestions for different rolls our users were interested in making."
Like its predecessor, Teach Me Sushi Expert makes creating sushi at home simple. The comprehensive application includes eight tutorial videos, along with corresponding step-by-step photo guides for each of the different rolls. The new app also features multi-tasking support for seamless switching between supported apps and devices, as well as a shopping list tool that automatically calculates how much of each ingredient is needed based on the amount of people the user is serving.
Other features include: * Equipment lists * Built-in rice timer and clearly defined cooking instructions * Map, based on user's location, showing where the nearest Japanese markets are located * FAQ video providing answers to common questions
"Teach Me Sushi Expert brings the same passion and straightforward instruction we delivered in the first app, while offering a much wider range of rolls," said Davidow. "I'm thrilled to continue sharing my love of sushi-making with users around the globe." Teach Me Sushi and Teach Me Sushi Expert are available for download in the iPhone App store.
Pricing and Availability: Teach Me Sushi Expert 1.0 is $4.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Lifestyle category.
