Dear mayajoe, since u said u have a 3g iPhone and has already upgraded it to 2.0.2, is it true that the update is for the 3g coverage? did u think there's a significant change on ur 3g iPhone? nothing is safe, but from the many forums i have read from, bricked iPhones only happens if u are using ZiPhone software, thus the term ZiPhoned = bricked iPhone. i dont have 2 iPhones so i dont know how to use iTunes with 2 iPhones, but what i understand of the process when using WinPWN, u will press the "Restore" in iTunes while pressing Shift at the same time, u will then be able to choose which firmware you want to upgrade.
thanks to ATTNCK and miskol for your advice.
Two more questions pls.
Firstly, I thought it was not safe to upgrade my 2g iphone (1.1.4) to 2.0.2 or the 2.0.1 as it would brick my iphone.
And secondly, i already have 2.0.2 on my itunes as i also have a 3g iphone and have upgraded already. So my question is: would it be better for me to uninstall 2.0.2 from itunes and install 2.0.1 before i upgrade my 2g (1.1.4) iphone?
Once again thanks alot for your help.

Just one question: Where's the 3G unlock? Nothing else does matter to me.
Hmnnn ..it seems like your lost brother...are we in in the same boat?
To mayajoe, if i'm not mistaken the 2.0.2 update benefits mostly to the 3g iPhone cuz the upgrades are to repair the 3g coverage problems (again if i'm not mistaken, if i do i'm sorry).
Plus users in the Apple forum has stated that their updated 2.0.2 iPhones are draining more battery than when they are on 2.0.1 and of course 2.0.1 drains more battery than 1.1.4. But still why the need to use 2.0.2, there's no significant goods that comes with 2.0.2 right?
so if u just want to upgrade ur phone from 1.1.4 to 2.0.x , i'd just suggest you to just upgrade it to 2.0.1.

mayajoe:
Just update to 2.0.2 then use WinPwn2.5 to pwn it.
Make sure to backup everything you want saved using iTunes!

Do you have a 2G or 3G? The only downside to upgrading would be
if you had a 3G and the new firmware cant be unlocked if and when
an unlock comes out....
james:
It's still unknown, and until an unlock is found for the iPhone 3G
we won't know. If you really want to unlock it, for now I would
stay at 2.0 and not update.
I have a 2g jailbroken iphone running on 1.1.4 ipsw. How do i upgrade it to 2.0.2. will this new 2.5 do the trick??
Thanks to anyone who replies to this question.
