Scott Wilson, the designer behind the TikTok and LunaTik watch bands for the iPod nano, is back with a new Alloy Touch Pen that works on both paper and touchscreen.

The Lunatik Alloy Touch Pen is manufactured from premium materials and features an aircraft grade aluminum barrel, a die cast clip that is hard coated with PVD plating, high grade silicone rubber grip as well as our patent-pending dual mode tip that allows you to seamlessly use the LunaTik Pen with any touch screen. Our custom engineered materials are designed to meet our demanding specifications for touch screen responsiveness and flow. And on paper, the Touch Pen uses precision Japanese rollerball components for a fluid inking experience.

The Lunatik Alloy Touch Pen is seeking funding from Kickstarter and has already received $50,000 in funding. It's goal is $75,000 with 58 days to go. A $30 pledge will get you the LunaTik Alloy Touch Pen with silver anodized aluminum body and graphite metal clip. US shipping included. Add $20 for international shipping.

I found Estylo best for capacitive screens and Jot Pro as second best. However, if you really want to do precision sketching, then consider upcoming Windows 8 based 10.2 to 11.6 inch tablet PCs. Estylo and Jot are good for painting, but for precise work, I suggest Wacom penabled styluses and software like Corel Photo Paint or Adobe Photoshop.

LunaTik Touch Pen styluses still lacks the precision of resistive stylus or Estylo capacitive stylus from Plai. Although LunaTik Touch Pen has better precision than other rubber tip styluses on the market, I think for sketching, Estylo from Plai is better. Regarding accuracy of Estylo, there are various photos and videos on its accuracy feature showing it does not have the problem of unnecessary point or line marks on the screen; it's very accurate and simple in design. In fact, Estylo has the smallest tip curves of all styluses I have seen till now, be it resistive or capacitive. Capacitive styluses works on electric charge density on screens and resistive ones work with pressure sensitivity. The guys at Plai have successfully invented a capacitive stylus with high accuracy. They have replaced traditional rubbery stylus designs with a highly sophisticated precision lightweight triangular design. More importantly, Estylo works with gloves and does not require any additional radio frequency system support or external power.
