Apple Releases iBooks 3.1, Brings iBookstore to Japan

Apple has released iBooks 3.1 which brings the iBookstore to Japan.

iBooks is an amazing way to download and read books. iBooks includes the iBookstore, where you can download the latest bestselling books or your favorite classics – day or night. Browse your library on a beautiful bookshelf, tap a book to open it, flip through pages with a swipe or a tap, and bookmark or add notes to your favorite passages

What's New In This Version:
The iBookstore in Japan now has hundreds of thousands of books available for purchase, including fiction, manga, light novels and more.  


This version of iBooks also includes a number of improvements for reading Asian language books.

Meaning that if you don't need to read 16bit languages (i.e. Chinese or Japanese), there's no reason to download the update? It sounds like it will likely include enough extra code to slow down an already sluggish, though vital, app.
