What's the whole point of that if you gotta replace the SuperDrive by another hard drive!!??

The Mac Mini is a Desktop, not a laptop. So the crappy internal optical drive can go, and more storage can take its place. Then you can use your external Blue-Ray drive.
Now an even better example would be a Mac Mini Cluster, optical drives are not needed and storage is, and to minimize the footprint of the cluster and all the clutter of wires, a 2nd internal drive would be useful.

Then you might look at it that way, but it's waste of money! An external bluray costs more then your mini!!!
But it's my point of vue!! If you wanna pay around 1600$ for a mac mini, that's you're choice.
