Ever since I updated to High Sierra my Apple remote is controlling my Mac. I have made sure that the box shown in this feed is clicked and it is still controlling it. Any ideas? I have restarted multiple times, unchecked and rechecked and nothing.

In terminal, type this (you will need to enter your admin password): sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIRController.kext Ignore errors. It should work

Im straight up sick if my parents and sister controlling the computer while im streaming. They are all netflix fanatics and for some reason, they can never find a movie to watch, so continuous song, volume and play changing. Thanks iClarified!

Doesn't seem to work on my 15" MacBook Pro w/ Retina Display

That's because it doesn't have an IR sensor. Only regular MacBook pros do.

Don't be one of those people that have to post a stupid comment just because they can. I'm sure there as things you might not have known until someone posted it.

Helped me solve the problem to stop activating iTunes on my iMac, while while streaming a movie to iTv in my small apartment. Glad they shared this "common" knowledge, was not common to me. TSK TSK = snobbery

How do people not know about this already? It's like someone got bored and decided to share common knowledge and claim it's "news". TSK TSK....
