Dell Accidentally Combines Mac OS X and Windows 8 in Laptop Ad [Video]

Posted February 3, 2014 at 7:32pm by iClarified
Dell has posted a commercial for its Dell XPS 15 laptop that accidentally shows the device running a combination of Mac OS X and Windows 8.

The Verge noticed that "The entire marketing video, released in December, shows a laptop that seamlessly switches between the Windows 8 Start Screen and apps running in OS X, all thanks to a flick of the wrist or a tap on the screen."

The site theorizes that Dell's marketing team got a little too creative when producing the video.

Maybe they don't care and or did it on purpose. They didn't indicate they weren't doing that.

Well! If you got the chance to watch the video twice, and listen carefully to what the background voice-over, then you know it won't be suprise ever it shows three computer (Mac OSX, Linux, Windows) on the same screen. Come on, I am posting with COMMON SENSE, the title of Dell's Ad is saying how good the screen of its debuted touch-screen laptop is, not that they are Microsoft's buddy-buddy. Please re-watch the Ad again

The action strip isn't what they're talking about. It's the red, green, yellow circle buttons. Which are not found in windows.

How did they even get the OSX apps to run on windows?? Isn't Dell all buddy-buddy with Microsoft, and if they were they probably should have been strutting windows 8 apps.. Oh wait, what windows 8 apps?

It's not that they were running an osx app on a dell laptop with windows. Whom ever made the commercial and edited it was obviously using a Mac.

That's awesome. More than likely the commercial for a windows PC was created and edited on a Mac. Priceless.

In the video, it was mentioning its monitor has 5 times more pixel than HD, then showing a LCD I guess it's the old MacBook Pro or normal LCD running Mac OSX, I found nothing wrong they are just comparing side rent OS with same software on lower quality monitor

I found nothing wrong they are just comparing different OS running the same Apps. Plus you can see that in the video during OS X, there are TWO monitor, there's a edge of monitor
