Apple sold more Macs and iOS Devices than Windows PCs sold during the 2013 holiday quarter, notes Benedict Evans.

A symbolic moment, this: in Q4 2013 the number of computers* sold by Apple was larger than the number of Windows PC sold globally. If you add Windows Phone to the mix they're more or less exactly equal.

The chart below really shows how important mobile has become and how far behind Microsoft is. The company just named Satya Nadella as their new CEO and acquired Nokia in an effort to boost their share of mobile.

Will they be able to catch up?

And I supose it only counts on OEM machines with preinstalled Windows... What about motherboards and more hardware sold separately runing windows? That's a bit missleading...

Wtf is wrong with this article? "Windows PC < Mac idevices"? Seems they were desperate to make Apple sound better.

You're the one acting desperate of your own words, I once owned a PC and let me tell ya, by the month the more I used it, it got worse and worse, gmail stopped for no reason to to unsolving my third party cookie problem, malware kept showing up and now I can't get out of this error with internet not working even though my router was fine but also was forever stuck in the windows 98 look. You have to pay to get the most put of PC, not macs.

What the fuck are you talking about? I was mentioning how this stupid desperate article tries to compare sales of 1 selection product(windows desktop pc) versus multiple selection products(all apple products which includes macs, ipad, iphones, etcetc). Without combining all of their apple products, none of them beats windows. Whether you had a bad experiences with windows or not. And i bet it was problem on yourside anyway.
