Apple Lists Flextronics as Assembler of Macs in Austin, Texas

Apple added Flextronics International Ltd. as an assembler of its Mac computers last year and has officially listed the company in its recent Supplier Responsibility Report, noticed Bloomberg.

Flextronics assembled Macs in Austin, Texas, last year, Apple said in its annual supplier report published yesterday. Foxconn Technology Group remains the largest manufacturer of Apple products, with seven assembly locations in China and Brazil, according to the list published on Apple’s website.

In December 2012, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that the company was spending $100 million to bring some Mac production to the United States. Flextronics has headquarters in California and Singapore and joins Quanta as an Asia-based company supply to Apple from the facilities in the United States.
