:) . He tried to pull some of the data in the "image" out. IT seem like we can use iboot again. So, some of the good new is that......you guys will able to overclock your iphone 3gs to it true power (600mhz to 800 mhz).Once again, nicely done Geohot. It seem like the old way always work no matter what.....:)

This news makes my day! I've been checking like every hour for news on this since Friday. I'm going crazy waiting for a jailbreak for my 3G S. Seriously, without it, I think I would downgrade back to my old 3G.

if i buy a new iphone from o2 ireland .. not with contract " pay monthly " .
is it unloack one and works with any sim like mine in libya .. or it just work with o2 .. thanks

I would say it's locked to O2. If it's a 3G, you can unlock with software. If it's 3GS, you're out of luck. Your only hope is to wait for jailbreak or buy a turbosim (rebel) that works with 3.0.

Italian & French "Pay-aa-you-go" 3gs are unlocked, also the Australian will be when its out. Play are also stocking them from £999.99 which is a piss-take so this i great news. Soon as they Jailbreak a 3gs I will be buying on - O2 are poo.

Hi, in case some of you want some clarification on the image, from my understanding, he managed to execute the echo command on the phone, which means the next command (in simple terms) could be install Custom Firmware, obv its more complicated then this, but thats just to get an idea.
